However, figures from the investment research portal AlphaQuery show that <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alphaquery.com\/stock\/TSLA\/volatility-option-statistics\/60-day\/historical-volatility\">Tesla<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.alphaquery.com\/stock\/AAPL\/volatility-option-statistics\/60-day\/historical-volatility\">Apple<\/a> stock prices still have significantly lower 60-day volatilities over the same period.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.cointelegraph.com\/uploads\/2021-05\/a2ff0ee9-f14a-4ab7-b589-973452cdcb21.png\"><figcaption style=\"text-align: center;\">BTC 60-day Volatility, courtesy Woobull Charts<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Speaking during an <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/business\/status\/1389159492818935811\">interview<\/a> with Bloomberg TV on Monday, the Binance chief argued that crypto\u2019s volatility was not unlike the situation in the stock market, adding: \u201cVolatility is everywhere [\u2026] It is not unique to crypto.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;There&#8217;s always a large number of people having the herd mentality than the guys who actually do serious research.&#8221;<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cz_binance?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@cz_binance<\/a>, founder of the world\u2019s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance, discusses volatility of <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/cryptocurrency?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#cryptocurrency<\/a> markets on <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BloombergTV?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BloombergTV<\/a> <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/UAT4Kpy1tu\">pic.twitter.com\/UAT4Kpy1tu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bloomberg (@business) <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/business\/status\/1389159492818935811?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 3, 2021<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>For Zhao, yield chasers who are often not as committed to crypto projects as the actual true believers are often to blame for choppy price actions due to their large numbers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s always a large number of people having the herd mentality than the guys who actually do serious research.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever there is some negative <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a>, they [herd followers] run away, whenever there\u2019s positive news, they try to rush in and so they do cause more volatility,\u201d Zhao stated.<\/p>\n<p>The executive\u2019s characterization of crypto believers as being more \u201cdie-hard fans who understand and really love the project\u201d is consistent with his previous remarks about his personal disposition to the industry as a whole.<\/p>\n<p>Back in April, Zhao revealed that he holds nearly 100% of his net worth in cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<p>The crypto market is enjoying a Monday of significant gains, with the total market capitalization up more than 4.5% in the last 24 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Ether\u2019s (ETH) climb to breach the $3,000 mark for the first time ever has been the highlight of the day especially among the top-10 ranked tokens according to market capitalization.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin appears set to test the $60,000 mark for the first time since mid-April, which preceded a minor correction below $50,000 on April 24.<\/p>\n<p><template data-name=\"subscription_form\" data-type=\"markets_outlook\"><\/template><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
