And at the helm, CEO Bryan \u201cBirdman\u201d Williams has overseen the careers of them all and has the numbers to prove it.<\/p>\n<p>During a recent interview with the <em>Million Dollaz Worth of <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a><\/em> podcast co-host Wallo, Birdman revealed how much money Cash Money pulls in annually solely from the masters they own.<\/p>\n<p>After co-host Wallo asked how an artist can make money off the masters, Birdman explained around the seven-minute mark, \u201cIf it has a value. That\u2019s a value. If you don\u2019t have a value, you sitting on some shit that\u2019s dead \u2014 but it\u2019s still your shit. But our shit had value. We license the music. I just started letting people sample my shit. There\u2019s a gang of ways to make money off your masters. We generate $20 to $30 million dollars a year just on our masters.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"WHERE&#039;S WALLO: Birdman\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/E_wwuHHTwBk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In 2005, Lil Wayne founded Young Money Entertainment under the Cash Money umbrella, ushering in artists such as Nicki Minaj and Drake.\u00a0The label has released 14 chart-topping Billboard albums, including Weezy\u2019s<em> Tha Carter V,<\/em> Drake\u2019s <em>Scorpion<\/em> and Nicki\u2019s <em>Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>But along the way, the relationship between Lil Wayne and Birdman started to unravel and Wayne ultimately sued Universal Music Group and Birdman\u00a0over unpaid advances and rights to his catalog. In 2015, Wayne filed a $51 million lawsuit, which was eventually settled in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Under the new agreement, Lil Wayne collected over $10 million from previously failed payments and Young Money\u2019s ownership was transferred from Cash Money to Universal directly. Birdman\u2019s 49 percent stake in Young Money was also transferred to Wayne.\u00a0In June 2020, Lil Wayne sold his master recordings in a settlement from Republic Records to Universal Music Group for $100 million.<\/p>\n<p>Wayne previously discussed the situation in a 2016 interview with ESPN\u2019s\u00a0<em>His &amp; Hers,\u00a0<\/em>comparing his issues with Cash Money Records to Chris Bosh\u2019s own difficulties with the Miami Heat.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverything I\u2019ve done for them, they wouldn\u2019t be them without me,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cBut I\u2019m off the team, so it\u2019s, \u2018Screw him as long as we can, make sure we\u2019re going to screw him as much as we can, and when we can\u2019t no more, let\u2019s see what h<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ens to him.\u2019 That\u2019s what it looks like they\u2019re doing to Bosh, and I hope he make a comeback.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<div class=\"author\" itemprop=\"author\" itemscope itemtype=\"http:\/\/schema.org\/Person\">\n<meta itemprop=\"name\" content=\"Kyle Eustice\"><br \/>\nby Kyle Eustice\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
