\nPete Davidson<\/strong> really is getting rid of a lot of his body art!<\/p>\n

Fans were absolutely shocked in December when it was announced that Pete was in the process of removing his famous ink! The news<\/a> leaked on Twitter<\/a><\/strong> when film critic\u00a0Mike McGranaghan<\/strong>, who was part of a virtual panel for The<\/em> King Of Staten Island<\/em>,\u00a0revealed the SNL<\/em> star had already removed the tattoos on his hand! And now we finally know why!<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the comedian chatted with Seth Meyers<\/strong> about his big decision \u2014 revealing that the body art had to go now that his film career has taken off! The 27-year-old shared:<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t think that they would put me in stuff. Like movie business or anything. Like I thought after this, after SNL<\/em>, I thought that was a wrap.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Late Night<\/em> host was reasonably a bit confused by the fact that Pete, who joined the comedy sketch series<\/a> when he was only 20, thought he\u2019d never get hired again. But the screenwriter made a good (if not a bit depressing) point \u2014 at his ripe old age of 27, \u201cin Hollywood, that\u2019s like forty!\u201d<\/p>\n

Now that he doesn\u2019t have to worry about retiring prematurely, the star has decided he\u2019s sick of having to show up to work early in order to cover up his sleeve-full of tattoos! Davidson explained:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have to get there like three hours earlier to cover all your tattoos cause for some reason, people in movies, they don\u2019t have them that much.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While the decision might give him some more free time in the future, it definitely doesn\u2019t sound fun now!<\/p>\n

\u201cSo now I am burning them off, but burning them off is like worse than getting them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Continuing to detail the experience, he joked:<\/p>\n

\u201cSo before [the doctor] goes to laser each tattoo, you hear him announced what the tattoo is to make sure if you want to keep it or not. So I will be sitting there all high off the Pro-Nox [nitrous oxide] \u2026 and then all of a sudden I\u2019ll hear, \u2018Are we keeping the Stewie Griffin smoking a blunt?\u2019 And I have to sit there and be like, \u2018No, Dr. G.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

LOLz!! Pete\u2019s last words of wisdom for anyone considering a tat:<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re going to get tattoos, just make sure you really, really want it \u2014 and aren\u2019t on mushrooms.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
