“#’Jupiter’s Legacy’ Creator Mark Millar Announces ‘The Magic Order’ Is Back in Development<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Just as the first season of Mark Millar\u2019s Jupiter\u2019s Legacy<\/em><\/a> is about to drop on Netflix (on May 7), he has announced that not only is one series<\/a> back in active development but he also has others planned as well.<\/p>\n

The big news<\/a> is that The Magic Order<\/em> series is heading into the writers\u2019 room soon, Millar announced in a blog post via Netflix on May 6. Like other productions, it had been postponed due to the \u201cuncertainty\u201d of 2020. \u201cSome time away has given us a chance to come back with a completely fresh look at the material,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

The Magic Order<\/em> follows the five families of magicians who protect the world for generations \u2014 they\u2019re the reason \u201cwe\u2019ve never seen a monster [and] sleep safely in our beds,\u201d according to the logline \u2014 and have to fight an enemy picking them off one at a time. \u201cBy day they live among us as our neighbors, friends and co-workers, but by night they are the sorcerers, magicians and wizards that protect us from the forces of darkness\u2026unless the darkness gets them first.\u201d<\/p>\n

While it was created to be a live-action series, Millar also turned it into a comic book, and Volumes 2 and 3 are coming this fall.<\/p>\n

Millar also has a new six-episode live-action spy series and comic in the works. It\u2019s \u201cmy first since Kingsman<\/em>, but a very different kind of property,\u201d he wrote. \u201cThe writer is someone I\u2019ve been a massive fan of for two decades, and he was the only person I app<\/a>roached. This has the potential to be one of the biggest franchises I\u2019ve ever created.\u201d<\/p>\n

Plus, Super Crooks<\/em>\u2018 anime<\/a> adaptation is coming later this year. The superpowered heist comic, following eight supervillains, will launch at Annecy Festival in June.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
