We need to preserve the credibility of public health officials to perhaps reimplement some of these provisions as we get into next winter, if we do start seeing outbreaks again.\u201d<br \/>\n        <span class=\"r-qt article__inset__pullquote__mark--right\">\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>        <small><br \/>\n          <span class=\"inset-author article__inset__pullquote__author\">\u2014 Dr. Scott Gottlieb<\/span><br \/>\n        <\/small><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>       \u201cThe only way to earn public credibility is to demonstrate that you\u2019re willing to relax these provisions as the situation improves,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p> While the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last month said it\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly safe for fully vaccinated people to walk and gather outdoors without masks, it still says masks should be worn by both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated people <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/daily-life-coping\/participate-in-activities.html\" class=\"icon none\">for virtually any indoor activity outside of the home<\/a>. Public health experts say the risks for transmission of COVID-19 are much higher indoors, so masking up is still a good precaution.<\/p>\n<p>Gottlieb said \u201coverall the picture looks very good around the country,\u201d noting that even as vaccination demand is slowing, \u201cwe\u2019re still going to continue to chip away at getting more people vaccinated\u201d as the effort shifts to making vaccines more convenient to those who haven\u2019t gotten them yet. \u201cBut I think that these gains are locked in, and the summer looks very good.\u201d<\/p>\n<div data-layout=\"inline\n                \" data-layout-mobile=\"\" class=\"\n          media-object\n          type-InsetTweet\n            inline\n    scope-web|mobileapps\n  article__inset\n          article__inset--type-InsetTweet\n            article__inset--inline\n  \"><\/p>\n<div class=\"dynamic-inset-container article__inset__dynamic\">\n<style>\n            iframe.twitter-tweet {\n                width: 100% !important;\n            }\n        <\/style>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\"><p>\n            <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thenewsoncnbc\/status\/1390448284364328960\"><\/a>\n            <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>        <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>       The positive test rate for COVID-19 is at a pandemic-low of 3.6%, and about 150 American adults have so far received at least one dose of the vaccine, according to <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/coronavirus\/?itid=hp_pandemic%20test\" class=\"icon none\">a Washington Post tally<\/a> \u2014 about 45% of the total U.S. population.
