A Discovery of Witches<\/i> is now coming to AMC. Season two was released earlier this year on Sundance Now and Shudder but this will be the second season\u2019s premiere on a traditional U.S. cable channel. The series was given a two-season renewal in 2018, but its return was delayed due to the pandemic. It is not known when season three will arrive.<\/p>\n

Teresa Palmer, Matthew Goode, Alex Kingston, Valarie Pettiford, Lindsay Duncan, Edward Bluemel, Aiysha Hart, Daniel Ezra, Aisling Loftus, Trevor Eve, Owen Teale, Malin Buska, Gregg Chillin, James Purefoy, Steven Cree, and Adelle Leonce star in this fantasy series with time travel<\/a> and magic at its center.<\/p>\n

AMC revealed more about season two of A Discovery of Witches<\/i> in a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cAMC announced today that A Discovery of Witches<\/i> season two begins its network television encore on AMC with the first two episodes airing back-to-back on Sunday, June 27 at 7 pm ET\/ 6c<\/b>. Subsequent episodes will air weekly on Sundays at 8pm ET\/7c on AMC. After a successful run on AMC\u2019s streaming services Sundance Now and Shudder earlier this year, the second season of A Discovery of Witches<\/em> is still available to binge on our streaming platforms.<\/p>\n

New guest stars featured in these episodes include James Purefoy (Rome, Pennyworth<\/i>) as \u201cPhilippe de Clermont,\u201d Steven Cree (Outlander<\/i>) as \u201cGallowglass de Clermont,\u201d Adelle Leonce (Black Mirror<\/i>) as \u201cPhoebe Taylor\u201d and Sheila Hancock (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas<\/i>) as \u201cGoody Alsop,\u201d among others.<\/p>\n

Adapted from Deborah Harkness\u2019 All Souls trilogy, the 10-part second season finds Diana (Teresa Palmer, Hacksaw Ridge) and Matthew (Matthew Goode, Downton Abbey) hiding in time in the fascinating and treacherous world of Elizabethan London. Here they must find a powerful witch teacher to help Diana control her magic and search for the elusive Book of Life.<\/p>\n

Back in present day, Diana\u2019s beloved aunts, Sarah (Alex Kingston, Doctor Who, ER<\/i>) and Em (Valarie Pettiford, Half & Half<\/i>), must take shelter with notorious witch hunter Ysabeau de Clermont (Lindsay Duncan, The Honourable Woman) at her ancestral home, Sept-Tours. Meanwhile, in Oxford, Marcus (Edward Bluemel, Killing Eve) and Miriam (Aiysha Hart, Line of Duty<\/i>) take on Matthew\u2019s mantle to protect daemons Nathaniel (Daniel Ezra, All American<\/i>) and Sophie (Aisling Loftus, War & Peace<\/i>), whose pregnancy is advancing. And Gerbert (Trevor Eve, Waking the Dead<\/i>), Knox (Owen Teale, Game<\/a> of Thrones<\/i>), Satu (Malin Buska, The Girl King<\/i>) and Domenico (Gregg Chillin, Da Vinci\u2019s Demons<\/i>) are determined to hunt down every clue they can to Diana\u2019s and Matthew\u2019s disapp<\/a>earance, and the secrets their allies are keeping from them.<\/p>\n

Season two of the hit series remains one of the most popular shows in the history of Sundance Now.
