“#Mamoru Hosoda’s Belle Reveals Some Of Its Cast<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

Four cast members from Mamoru Hosoda\u2019s upcoming anime<\/a> movie Belle<\/em> (Ry\u016b t<\/span>o Sobakasu no Hime<\/em>\/The Dragon and the Freckled Princesss<\/em>\u00a0in Japanese)\u00a0have been revealed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The four announced cast members include Ryo Narita (Katsuhiko Teshigawara from Your Name<\/em>) as Shinobu Hisatake\/Shinobu-kun, Sh\u014dta Sometani (Shinichi Izumi from the Parasyte<\/em> live-action movies<\/a>) as Shinjir\u014d Chikami\/Kamishin, Tina Tamashiro (Sawa Nakamura from The Flowers of Evil<\/em> live-action movie) as Ruka Watanabe\/Ruka-chan, and Rira Ikuta (J-Pop duo Yoasobi\u2019s singer) as Hiroka Betsuyaku\/Hiro-chan. The characters are classmates of the movie\u2019s protagonist Belle\/Suzu.<\/span><\/p>\n

For Belle\/Suzu and the other main character, Ry\u016b (Dragon), it was hinted that their respective voice actors will be the next to be revealed .\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A trailer that was released in April revealed that Belle<\/em> is set to release in Japan in July, while the English-translated version stated that it is \u201ccoming soon.\u201d The movie\u2019s staff includes Frozen<\/em>\u00a0character designer Jin Kim, British architect and designer Eric Wong, and Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart from Irish studio Cartoon Saloon, which produced the Oscar-nominated\u00a0Song of the Sea<\/em>,\u00a0The Secret of the Kells<\/em>, and\u00a0Wolfwalkers<\/em>. Studio Chizu is handling the animation production.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Studio Chizu website<\/a>\u00a0describes the story as:<\/span><\/p>\n

Our protagonist, Suzu, is a 17-year old high school girl, who lives in the countryside of Kochi Prefecture with her father, after losing her mother at a young age.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

She loves singing with her mother more than anything else, but as a result of her mother\u2019<\/span>s death was no longer able to sing.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019<\/span>t long before she and her father grew more and more distant from each other, and Suzu closed her heart to the rest of the world.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

When Suzu felt that writing music was her only purpose left in life, she then discovers the massive online space known as\u00a0\u201c<\/span>U,\u201d<\/span>\u00a0where she takes on her persona, Belle.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Another me.<\/em><\/span>
Another reality.<\/em><\/span>
We are no longer limited to a single world.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Suzu quickly realizes that when she is inside\u00a0\u201c<\/span>U\u201d<\/span>\u00a0as her avatar, Belle, she can sing quite naturally. As she continues to showcase her own music in the virtual world, she fast becomes the rising star of\u00a0\u201c<\/span>U.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Nonetheless, that surprise is short-lived. Suddenly, a mysterious dragon-shaped creature app<\/a>ears before her\u2026<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
