Which one you should use depends on how you plan to use the \u201cgram.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Is_an_Instagram_Personal_Account\"><\/span>What Is an Instagram Personal Account?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>An Instagram Personal Account is the regular account that everyone gets by default. If you have an Instagram account and you haven\u2019t done anything to deliberately change it, you have a Personal Account.<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll look at the advantages of Professional Accounts in a moment, but there is one big advantage for Personal Accounts: You can\u00a0set them to private. This means that you have to <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>rove any new followers and that strangers on the internet won\u2019t be able to go through all your old photos.<\/p>\n<p>While you don\u2019t have to keep your Instagram account set to private (although I\u2019d probably recommend that you do), it\u2019s nice to have the option. They\u2019re designed for actual businesses, like beauty salons and online stores, rather than individuals.<\/p>\n<p>For the most part, a Business Account is just like a Personal Account. You can still post photos, share things to your Story, and slide into people\u2019s DMs. However, you have access to a couple of business-specific features, including the ability to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>post \u201cInsights\u201d and analytics that enable you to see the reach of things you share, your follower growth, and the like.<\/li>\n<li>promote posts and run ads.<\/li>\n<li>create Shopping posts linked to an online store.<\/li>\n<li>automatically schedule posts using apps like <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/later.com\">Later<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>have a sortable message inbox.<\/li>\n<li>have a \u201cContact\u201d button and business category on your Profile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One quirk of Instagram Business Accounts is that you need to link yours to a <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> Page to run ads or sell products, even if you don\u2019t plan to use Facebook in your marketing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-723636\" src=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/IMG_8950.png?trim=1,1&amp;bg-color=000&amp;pad=1,1\" alt=\"instagram business account\" width=\"650\" height=\"562\"\/><\/p>\n<h2 role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Is_an_Instagram_Creator_Account\"><\/span>What Is an Instagram Creator Account?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Instagram Creator Accounts are the other type of Instagram Professional Account. They fall roughly between Personal and Business Accounts. They\u2019re designed for public figures, influencers, YouTubers, Etsy makers, and the like.<\/p>\n<p>With a Creator Account, you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>see Post Insights, run ads, sort your inbox, and create shoppable posts, like with a Business Account. You can switch your current Instagram account to a Professional Account.<\/p>\n<p>For most people, a Personal Account is the only Instagram account that you need. If you only have 100 or 200 followers, analytics won\u2019t tell you much, and it saves you the hassle of setting up a Facebook Page.
