The object \u2014 from the artist\u2019s 1980s apartment at 325 Broome St. downtown \u2014 features more than 80 signatures and \u201ctags,\u201d including those believed to be by Madonna and Jean-Michel Basquiat.<\/p>\n<p>Even more amazing, the artifact nearly perished before the current owner \u2014 who lived in Haring\u2019s old unit in the early 1990s \u2014 grabbed it from a back alley before a garbage crew could take it away.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a one in a million kind of thing,\u201d Guernsey\u2019s president Arlan Ettinger told The Post. That\u2019s when the fridge\u2019s current owner, an artist who now lives in San Francisco and wished to remain anonymous, moved in.<\/p>\n<p>She answered found a listing looking for a roommate to share a railroad apartment in Soho for $250 a month. \u201cI was im<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a>tely struck by the beautiful light in the front of the flat and the amazing bathroom \u2026 [and] the funky kitchen with the fridge covered in graffiti,\u201d the woman told The Post.<\/p>\n<p>When her soon-to-be roommate informed her that the apartment had once belonged to Haring, \u201cI was stunned,\u201d she said. After she moved in, she and her friends would examine it for names they recognizes. She ended up keeping it even after moving out in 1993.<\/p>\n<p>Three decades later, she\u2019s decided it\u2019s time to part with the curiosity. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hope to pass this fridge on to someone, or some institution, who, like me, has a connection and appreciation for the power of everyday art. On the left side, he drew a big black blob splashed with some stars and arrows, while on the upper right-hand corner he stuck a sticker featuring his iconic \u201cradiant baby\u201d image, which he first began drawing in subway stations in 1980. Later the Material Girl would wear the artist\u2019s graffiti-inspired fashions on stage and in music videos, and the two stayed friends for life. It\u2019s presumed she is the one who scrawled \u201cMadonna Loves Keith\u201d on the fridge. The two exhibited and partied together and inspired and pushed one another.
