After throwing a bullpen session on Friday and playing catch on Saturday, Mets ace Jacob deGrom is expected to start the finale of the three-game<\/a> series.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s our starter [on Sunday],\u201d manager Luis Rojas said after the Mets won their fourth straight, 4-2, over the Diamondbacks at Citi Field. \u201cWe can say that with conviction. He threw and everything is fine.\u201d<\/p>\n

DeGrom was scratched from his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Cardinals because of lat tightness. <\/p>\n

Before this health hiccup, deGrom has been dominant, pitching to a 0.51 ERA while striking out 59 batters in 35 innings. He took the loss in his last start, allowing one earned run over six innings against the Red Sox on April 28 at Citi Field.<\/p>\n

Acting general<\/a> manager Zack Scott said Noah Syndergaard (Tommy John surgery) and Seth Lugo (right elbow surgery) will begin rehab assignments in the next week. Lugo is expected back in late May, while Syndergaard\u2019s return remains targeted for mid-June.<\/p>\n
