Elon Musk has been called out for incorrectly claiming to be the \u201cfirst person with Asperger\u2019s\u201d to host \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d \u2014 with many noting that former cast member Dan Aykroyd likely nabbed that title 18 years ago. <\/p>\n

The billionaire Tesla CEO made the claim during his opening monologue on Saturday\u2019s episode, while publicly revealing his diagnosis for the first time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m actually making history tonight as the first person with Asperger\u2019s [syndrome] to host. Or at least the first to admit it,\u201d Musk told the audience.<\/p>\n

But others on social media<\/a> were quick to point out that the distinction belonged to Aykroyd, who returned in 2003 for hosting duties.<\/p>\n

\u201cDan Aykroyd is autistic and hosted SNL in 2003. In case anyone forgot,\u201d wrote one Twitter user.<\/a><\/p>\n

Another added<\/a>, \u201cGood on Musk for being open about his autism. But it takes seconds of research to find he was not the first.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aykroyd,\u00a0who served as a cast member from 1975 to 1979, has spoken publicly about living with Asperger\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have Asperger\u2019s but I can manage it,\u201d Aykroyd told the\u00a0Daily Mail<\/a> in 2014. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t diagnosed until the early \u201980s when my wife persuaded me to see a doctor.\u201d\u00a0\n <\/div>\n
