The hero NYPD cop caught on video clutching the 4-year-old girl wounded in the Times Square shooting shared a Mother\u2019s Day message to the tot\u2019s mom: \u201cShe\u2019ll be OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

Officer Alyssa Vogel offered words of comfort Sunday to Skye Martinez\u2019s mother \u2014 a day after the woman watched her baby take a bullet to the leg during a visit to the tourist mecca.<\/p>\n

\u201cKeep your head up,\u201d Vogel told The Post when asked if she had a message for the injured tot\u2019s mom. \u201cThe little girl\u2019s going to be able to walk again. She\u2019ll be OK.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fast-acting officer \u2014 a mom to a 6-month-old boy herself \u2014 recalled trying to reassure Skye\u2019s mother in the moments after the shooting late Saturday afternoon. <\/p>\n

\u201cI kept telling her to breathe, that I know what she\u2019s going through because I have a baby myself,\u201d said Vogel. \u201cIt was very difficult for her, very traumatic. She saw her daughter just get shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI kept telling her to breathe and that her daughter was going to be OK,\u201d she added. \u201cI kept trying to calm her down because she was obviously very scared.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vogel, a former school teacher who joined the NYPD four-and-a-half years ago, also said the tiny shooting victim was \u201cthe strongest little girl I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cThis little girl was so strong,\u201d she recalled. \u201cShe didn\u2019t even cry once except when we were putting the tourniquet on. She screamed because it\u2019s very painful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vogel was caught on dramatic surveillance footage bolting down Broadway with Skye in her arms after gunfire broke out at the Crossroads of the World shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday. <\/p>\n

The girl, the youngest of three victims injured in the fracas, was struck in the leg.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just picked her up so I could run to the ambulance,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe was just saying she wanted her mom,\u201d she continued. \u201cHer mom was running right behind me, but she was calling for her mother.\u201d<\/p>\n

At Bellevue Hospital, Vogel\u2019s maternal instinct kicked in.<\/p>\n

\u201cI actually got out of the ambulance with her and ran her to the pediatrics unit, where the doctors took over,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

Skye is expected to make a full recovery.<\/p>\n

Vogel comes from a family of NYPD cops \u2014 inspiring her to join the force.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy dad used to be a cop,\u201d she said. \u201cMy husband\u2019s a cop. My brother is a cop. I just wanted to join the police department and help people.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
