Ten years later, Mickey Rourke\u2019s grudge against Marvel movies<\/a> roils on.<\/p>\n

In an unprompted app<\/a>raisal of the legendary procedural franchise \u201cLaw & Order,\u201d Rourke commended the \u201cmeticulous\u201d and \u201camazing\u201d work by \u201cSpecial Victims Unit\u201d actors \u2014 specifically the cast members who starred in seasons that first aired a decade or more ago. And it appears the 68-year-old actor\u2019s assessment came to him after having never heard of the series until the current season, its 22nd. <\/p>\n

\u201cMariska Hargitay \u2026 is a very concentrated actress,\u201d Rourke wrote on Instagram Sunday, with many interesting spelling and punctuation choices. \u201cShe is absolutely great in every episode. Her dedication and very meticulous work put her on another level. There\u2019s very few \u2026 actresses in films these days that can hold her jock strap. I give her tremendous respect for her amazing ability.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rourke\u2019s praise for the others followed: \u201cChristopher Meloni \u2026 the man brings a lot to the table with his physicality \u2026 knowing that he had a high level football background explaining it all.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI also took notice to the classy and highly talented intense Stephanie March \u2026 as well as BD Wong.\u201d <\/p>\n

Finally, he\u2019s \u201cmost surprised, tremendously impressed with the charisma,the attitude and swag and senserity that [Ice-T]\u00a0brings to his particular role.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before concluding his review, the \u201cWrestler\u201d star managed to strong-arm a jab at the Marvel Cinematic Universe.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat\u2019s especially enjoying is watching commodity of this exceptional group of actors \u2026 Respect to all of you,the work that you all do is real acting,not like that crap that all on Marvel shit,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n

Rourke\u2019s relationship with Marvel soured after his role in 2010\u2019s \u201cIron Man 2,\u201d which he has since publicly denounced. In previous interviews, he slammed the studio for strip<\/a>ping Rourke\u2019s character, the villainous Ivan Vanko\/Whiplash, of any nuance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to bring some other layers and colors, not just make this Russian a complete murderous revenging bad guy. And they allowed me to do that,\u201d he said in 2011<\/a>. But Marvel execs, he said, wanted a \u201cone-dimensional bad guy,\u201d so his best work was cut from the final edit.<\/p>\n

\u201cIron Man 2\u201d went on to gross $623.9 million at the worldwide box office, and Rourke never again stepped foot on a Marvel set.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
