Soulja Boy is facing a new lawsuit from a woman who claims that the rapper abused her while they were in a relationship, TMZ<\/a> reports and Pitchfork can confirm. The civil suit was filed today (May 11) in a California state court. The rapper is being sued for domestic violence, negligence, sexual battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and gender violence.<\/p>\n

According to the lawsuit, viewed by Pitchfork, Soulja Boy and the woman, listed under the pseudonym Jane Doe, \u201cbegan their on-and-off romantic relationship in 2007,\u201d and later \u201crestarted their relationship in a more serious capacity in 2014 until mid 2019.\u201d The lawsuit outlines several instances of alleged violence during the course of their relationship. According to the suit, Jane Doe was pregnant with Soulja Boy\u2019s child in late 2015 when he \u201cquickly became irate and violent\u201d as they \u201cwere having a simple conversation.\u201d Jane Does says \u201c[Soulja Boy] began to punch [her] in the face and chest, until she could no longer stand on her feet.\u201d She says she \u201c[fell] to the ground,\u201d at which point Soulja Boy allegedly \u201ccontinued to kick [her] all over her body, particularly in the stomach.\u201d Jane Doe says she \u201csuffered a miscarriage and was unable to carry her pregnancy into full term\u201d due to the alleged attack.<\/p>\n

The lawsuit also cites multiple instances where Soulja Boy, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, allegedly threatened Jane Doe\u2019s life. In April 2016, according to the complaint, Soulja Boy \u201cposted a video of himself holding a gun, threatening to take [Jane Doe]\u2019s life.\u201d Later, \u201c[o]n or about February 2019,\u201d Soulja Boy allegedly \u201ctightly gripped [Jane Doe]\u2019s neck and choked her while threatening her life.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the claims of physical violence, Jane Doe says that Soulja Boy \u201ccoerced [her] to engage in sexual acts through the threat of physical violence\u201d and also \u201csubjected [her] to physical assault if she refused his sexual demands.\u201d The lawsuit states:<\/p>\n

Defendant Way touched Plaintiff\u2019s entire body including her legs, abdomen, lips, and face, and raped Plaintiff through intimidation and threats of force. On occasions where Plaintiff would not comply with Defendant Way\u2019s sexual demands, Defendant Way would physically assault her instead. Plaintiff did not consent to Defendant Way\u2019s sexual contact or touching. Plaintiff explicitly told Defendant Way she was not interested in his advances and objected to his forceful, physical, sexual, and harmful conduct.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Jane Doe is being represented by Neama Rahmani, president of West Coast Trial Lawyers<\/a>. Rahmani is also representing a different woman who sued Soulja Boy in January for assault and sexual battery. In a statement regarding the new lawsuit, Rahmani said:<\/p>\n

Our client is fortunate she was able to escape Way\u2019s reign of terror and domestic abuse. Still, she struggles to rebuild her life as she deals with the stress, fear and humiliation she continues to suffer from the years she remained Way\u2019s emotional and mental captive. She worries about her daughter\u2019s security and safety and about her ability to re-establish her career. How many women\u2019s lives will Way ravage before he is held accountable? We plan for it to end here.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In response to the first lawsuit, a Soulja Boy representative told TMZ<\/a>, \u201cSoulja would never put his hands on a female.\u201d Pitchfork has reached out to Soulja Boy\u2019s representatives and lawyers for comment and more information regarding the new lawsuit.<\/p>\n
