Malcolm Bright (Tom Payne) isn\u2019t the best company right now on Prodigal Son<\/em>, but who can blame him? His serial killer father, Dr. Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen), has escaped Claremont, and the profiler must face his fears in the May 11 episode.<\/p>\n

Detective Dani Powell (Aurora Perrineau) has a good grasp of exactly what has him concerned when she finds him in his dad\u2019s cell at Claremont Psychiatric in TV Insider\u2019s exclusive sneak peek of \u201cSun and Fun.\u201d<\/p>\n

With Martin gone, \u201call eyes are on his headcase son, right?\u201d Malcolm asks bitterly. \u201cThe criminal profiler who couldn\u2019t find his own father.\u201d While she tries to tell him that \u201cno one cares about that,\u201d he interrupts with, \u201cI care! I can\u2019t live like this, knowing he\u2019s out there somewhere. He could come for me at any time.\u201d<\/p>\n

She knows that\u2019s not what\u2019s really bothering him, though. \u201cWhat scares you is living the rest of your life without your father in it,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe snaps at Dani. He\u2019s not really in his right frame of mind and not able to deal with people in his life,\u201d Payne tells TV Insider of Malcolm in that scene. \u201cHis life is collapsing because his father is out there and he\u2019s worried about what his father will do to himself, to his family, and how it would affect Malcolm\u2019s life. He\u2019s really not engaging with anyone outside of his family. In that scene, he\u2019s so caught up in his emotions [regarding] his family that no one can really penetrate that. He\u2019s a bit snapp<\/a>y with Dani, which is not something we\u2019ve seen with Malcolm.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the series<\/a>\u2019 penultimate episode, the search for Martin intensifies. (The other two serial killers who escaped with him were killed \u2014 Christian Borle\u2019s Friar Pete \u2014 and taken back into custody \u2014 Armando Acevedo\u2019s Hector.) And even when US Marshal Emily Ruiz (April Hernandez-Castillo) kicks Malcolm off the case, he doesn\u2019t back down.<\/p>\n
