A Texarkana, Texas teacher\u2019s aide has been formally sentenced to four years behind bars for having sex with multiple underage students.<\/p>\n

According to the Texarkana Gazette<\/a>, former Texas teacher\u2019s aide Ashlyn Faye Bell, 24, was formally sentenced Monday after she pleaded guilty in April to multiple sex crimes<\/p>\n

She admitted to two charges of improper relationship between educator and student involving two 17-year-old boys and two counts of sexual assault of a child involving a 16-year-old boy.<\/p>\n

\u201cA jury tasked with deciding Bell\u2019s punishment sentenced her to four years in prison on one count of sexual assault of a child and recommended terms of probation on the remaining three counts,\u201d the outlet wrote.<\/p>\n

A former teacher\u2019s aide sentenced to prison and probation by a jury for sexual misconduct with three male high school students was in court for formal sentencing Monday.<\/p>\n

The jury also assessed fines for the Texas teacher\u2019s aide\u2019s sex crimes totaling $1,000 that Bell will be required to pay as a condition of probation.<\/p>\n

She app<\/a>eared in court Monday before Judge John Tidwell wearing cuffs, shackles and a chain encircling her waist.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tidwell ordered Bell to serve 10 years probation on the count of sexual assault of a child, which the jury recommended. <\/p>\n

He also sentenced her to serve two five-year terms of probation on the two counts of improper relationship between educator and student.<\/p>\n

Bell testified Wednesday that she didn\u2019t know that Texarkana Independent School District policy prohibited staff other than teachers from having sex with students.<\/p>\n

The Texas teacher\u2019s aide\u2019s sentences for sex crimes are set to run concurrently. Bell will also be required to register as a sex offender once released from prison. <\/p>\n

She remains held in the Bowie County Jail until law enforcement are able to transport her to a unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.<\/p>\n

During her punishment-only trial in April, the jury heard how Bell lured the boys into sexual relationships through her work as a high school aide.<\/p>\n

She would arrange out-of-school meetups with the boys, often with her young daughter in the back seat, and take them to her home for encounters, The Toronto Sun previously reported<\/a>. <\/p>\n

According to cops, Bell used her work at Texas High School in Texarkana as a conduit for multiple sexual encounters with the boys in the fall of 2019.<\/p>\n

The Texas teacher\u2019s aide had previously contended that she did not know it was illegal for her to have sexual relations with students, because she was not a teacher. <\/p>\n

She also testified that she believed the students were all 18 or older.<\/p>\n

Bell also contended that the students were the sexual aggressors in their encounters.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll you saw in here was a liar when the truth would have been better,\u201d a prosecutor previously countered. \u201cI\u2019ve heard about all the victim blaming I want to hear.\u201d<\/p>\n

The court was told she would go to a truck stop to pick up her teenage lovers from the school after work in 2019, and often had sex in the car while her three year old daughter slept in the back of the car.<\/p>\n
