Martin&#8217;s A Song Of Ice And Fire series, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/game\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"7\" title=\"Game\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Game<\/a> of Thrones was a mega-hit but ended its run as one of TV&#8217;s greatest dis<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ointments.<\/p>\n<p>    Why did the series crash and burn like King&#8217;s Landing on Game of Throne Season 8 Episode 5?<\/p>\n<div>\n<div href=\"\"><img alt=\"GOT Original Book Cover\" data-pin-description=\"Books That Deserve Another Shot On TV \" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--gc-RzTHq--\/t_full\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1594336800\/attachment\/got-original-book-cover.jpg\" data-pin-url=\"https:\/\/www.tvfanatic.com\/2020\/07\/books-that-deserve-another-shot-on-tv\/\" data-src=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--QGiaOVHd--\/t_xlarge_p\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1594336800\/attachment\/got-original-book-cover.jpg\"><\/img><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n    In <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>, the more faithful Game of Thrones was to the books, the better the TV series was. You can easily see this from the unevenness of Game of Thrones Season 2.<\/p>\n<p>    Tyrion&#8217;s storyline as the acting Hand of the King in charge of defending King&#8217;s Landing from Stannis Baratheon&#8217;s forces adhered closely to the novels and was the best of the season.<\/p>\n<p>    Jon and Dany&#8217;s storylines beyond the Wall and in Qarth were not so faithfully depicted, and they were major misfires.<\/p>\n<p>    Once the TV series went past the events of the published material, it kept declining in quality all to way to the trainwreck of a series finale known as Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6.<\/p>\n<div>\n    <img alt=\"Prisoner - Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6\" data-pin-description=\"Books That Deserve Another Shot On TV \" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--Yw0Jb3eu--\/t_full\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1558320339\/prisoner-game-of-thrones-s8e6.jpg\" data-pin-url=\"https:\/\/www.tvfanatic.com\/2020\/07\/books-that-deserve-another-shot-on-tv\/\" data-src=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--9HqkA6Jh--\/t_xlarge_p\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1558320339\/prisoner-game-of-thrones-s8e6.jpg\"><\/img>\n<\/div>\n<p>    It&#8217;s early to be talking about a remake, especially with a prequel series in development, but the A Song Of Ice And Fire novels should get another television adaptation someday.<\/p>\n<p>    The characters and the fans deserve a better TV show than what we received.<\/p>\n<p>    Hopefully, the remake will happen after all the novels are published, so whoever adapts them has a clear and full picture of the story.<\/p>\n<p>    Moreso, whoever remakes it needs to understand the characters and the themes of the story, as failing to do so why was a large reason why Game of Thrones ultimately failed.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div href=\"\"><img alt=\"Darkly Dreaming Dexter\" data-pin-description=\"Books That Deserve Another Shot On TV \" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--UhOe6NR_--\/t_full\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1594336942\/attachment\/darkly-dreaming-dexter.jpg\" data-pin-url=\"https:\/\/www.tvfanatic.com\/2020\/07\/books-that-deserve-another-shot-on-tv\/\" data-src=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--Qi-b0Va3--\/t_xlarge_p\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1594336942\/attachment\/darkly-dreaming-dexter.jpg\"><\/img><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n    Like Game of Thrones, Dexter was a TV series based on a series of books that weren&#8217;t all published at the time the TV series began and finished airing. Before Dexter premiered, only the first two Dexter books were published.<\/p>\n<p>    Dexter Season 1 was largely based on the first Dexter novel. The subsequent seasons did not follow the books.<\/p>\n<p>    This did not harm Dexter as much as not following the books harmed Game of Thrones.<\/p>\n<p>    Dexter Season 2 showed the TV series could stand on its own. Erasing the image of Dexter as a lumberjack is a enough of a reason for Dexter to get a do-over.<\/p>\n<p>    True Blood was based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris.<\/p>\n<p>    It&#8217;s another example of the books being much better than the show.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>\n<div href=\"\"><img alt=\"Dead Until Dark\" data-pin-description=\"Books That Deserve Another Shot On TV \" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--Chm94RBe--\/t_full\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1594337024\/attachment\/dead-until-dark.jpg\" data-pin-url=\"https:\/\/www.tvfanatic.com\/2020\/07\/books-that-deserve-another-shot-on-tv\/\" data-src=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--k-ayeudP--\/t_xlarge_p\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1594337024\/attachment\/dead-until-dark.jpg\"><\/img><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n    True Blood Season 1 did a good job of staying true to the books. True Blood Season 2 went off the rails, and the series didn&#8217;t recover.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>    The TV series didn&#8217;t delve enough into the mystery aspect of the series. The vampire politics were different.<\/p>\n<p>    The TV series didn&#8217;t even try to capture the books&#8217; sense of humor.<\/p>\n<p>    The only good adaptational change was keeping Lafayette alive.<\/p>\n<div>\n    <img alt=\"Sookie in Black - True Blood Season 7 Episode 10\" data-pin-description=\"Books That Deserve Another Shot On TV \" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--SoKIxLfT--\/t_full\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1408564076\/sookie-in-black-true-blood-s7e10.jpg\" data-pin-url=\"https:\/\/www.tvfanatic.com\/2020\/07\/books-that-deserve-another-shot-on-tv\/\" data-src=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--iW0EZ6dH--\/t_xlarge_p\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1408564076\/sookie-in-black-true-blood-s7e10.jpg\"><\/img>\n<\/div>\n<p>    All the other characters were screwed. Sookie was more likable in the books. Sam&#8217;s backstory was mutilated. Important characters like Quinn were completely omitted. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>    Then there&#8217;s the awful depiction of fairies. Instead of bringing the drama like their book counterparts, True Blood&#8217;s fairies were jokes.<\/p>\n<p>    The complete disregard of the fairy lore the books set up and making Sookie&#8217;s telepathy a fairy power contributed to the nonsense.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>    If The Southern Vampire Mysteries ever does get another TV adaptation, there&#8217;s a lot of material to be mined from the books that will prevent it from being a retread.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div href=\"\"><img alt=\"Midnight Texas Book 1\" data-pin-description=\"Books That Deserve Another Shot On TV \" data-pin-media=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--Aowtuioz--\/t_full\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1594337127\/attachment\/midnight-texas-book-1.jpg\" data-pin-url=\"https:\/\/www.tvfanatic.com\/2020\/07\/books-that-deserve-another-shot-on-tv\/\" data-src=\"https:\/\/tv-fanatic-res.cloudinary.com\/iu\/s--vKU7UQqg--\/t_xlarge_p\/cs_srgb,f_auto,fl_strip_profile.lossy,q_auto:420\/v1594337127\/attachment\/midnight-texas-book-1.jpg\"><\/img><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\n    Another TV adaptation of a Charlaine Harris series that did not fare well was Midnight, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>    The premise is the eponymous town is a haven for psychics, vampires, and others with connections to the supernatural.<\/p>\n<p>    It only ran for two seasons. Some found it be a worse, more PG knock-off of True Blood.
