Hetty does have her own ideas in mind \u2014 like Special Agent G. Callen (Chris O&#8217;Donnell) and intelligence analyst Nell Jones (Ren\u00e9e Felice Smith) \u2014 but so far, the current team members seem reluctant to do so.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It could be somebody completely new that we haven&#8217;t seen before, but there are a bunch of different characters that have come through the show that could come in that they may not like, but that would make sense for the team,&#8221; executive producer Frank Military noted.<\/p>\n<p>Scroll down to see who we think could take over for Hetty, ranked from least to most likely.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>NCIS: Los Angeles<\/em>, Season 12, Fall 2020, CBS<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div data-hash=\"2\">\n<div> <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"LL Cool J NCIS Los Angeles Sam Replaces Hetty\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/ncis-los-angeles-ll-cool-j-sam-392x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p><span>Monty Brinton\/CBS<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sam_Hanna_LL_Cool_J\"><\/span>Sam Hanna (LL Cool J)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>While Sam has made it clear that he doesn\u2019t want the job and we can\u2019t see him behind a desk \u2014 there\u2019s a reason why we\u2019re ranking him as a possibility as very unlikely \u2014 it is always possible that events lead to him stepping up. And with his years of experience, both as an agent and as a leader, he could certainly handle the requirements of the position.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"3\">\n<div> <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Chris O'Donnell NCIS Los Angeles Callen Replaces Hetty\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/ncis-los-angeles-chris-odonnell-callen-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p><span>Aaron Epstein\/CBS<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Grisha_Aleksandrovich_Callen_Chris_ODonnell\"><\/span>Grisha Aleksandrovich Callen (Chris O&#8217;Donnell)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>He\u2019s one of Hetty\u2019s choices, and his partner agrees. In fact, Callen taking over is part of Sam\u2019s long-term plan for the team. They\u2019ll train younger agents in the way they do things, and in Sam\u2019s mind, that\u2019ll help the office be \u201cthe best it\u2019s ever been.\u201d But it\u2019s hard to imagine\u00a0<em>NCIS: LA<\/em> not having those two be partners in the field, so it\u2019s unlikely we\u2019d see Callen in Hetty\u2019s position before the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/watch-movies-tv-seriess\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"8\" title=\"Watch Movies &amp; TV Series\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">series<\/a> ends. (She has been grooming him for the position, after all, so we imagine that coming to fruition at some point.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"4\">\n<div> <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Renee Felice Smith NCIS Los Angeles Nell Replaces Hetty\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/ncis-los-angeles-renee-felice-smith-nell-389x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p><span>Michael Yarish\/CBS<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Nell_Jones_Renee_Felice_Smith\"><\/span>Nell Jones (Ren\u00e9e Felice Smith)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><em>Everyone<\/em> has been expecting the tech analyst to take over for Hetty, but in Season 11, Nell realized she didn\u2019t even want to work at NCIS anymore, as an analyst or a field agent. Rather than accept her resignation, Hetty told her to use her vacation time to think about her future. That\u2019s exactly what Nell is currently doing, and it\u2019s very possible that when she returns, she\u2019ll begin taking the steps to be Hetty\u2019s eventual replacement. Plus, as much as we\u2019d miss seeing her with Eric (Barrett Foa) in the Ops Center, we\u2019d still get to see them around the office.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"5\">\n<div> <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Catherine Bell NCIS Los Angeles Mac Replaces Hetty\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/ncis-los-angeles-catherine-bell-mac-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p><span>CBS<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sarah_%E2%80%9CMac%E2%80%9D_MacKenzie_Catherine_Bell\"><\/span>Sarah &#8220;Mac&#8221; MacKenzie (Catherine Bell)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Bell has brought her\u00a0<em>JAG<\/em> character over to the\u00a0spinoff of her series\u2019 spinoff (<em>NCIS<\/em>), and the Marine Lieutenant Colonel\u00a0did take over Hetty\u2019s office when she worked with the team in the Season 11 finale. Could that be foreshadowing what\u2019s to come? Military did name her as a possibility, and it could be quite fitting to have someone the team knows and respects and who\u2019s part of the franchise\u2019s origins fill those big shoes. But Bell\u2019s role on Hallmark\u2019s\u00a0<em>Good Witch<\/em> could be a factor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"6\">\n<div> <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Gerald McRaney NCIS Los Angeles Kilbride Replaces Hetty\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/ncis-los-angeles-gerald-mcraney-kilbride-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p><span>Ron P. Jaffe\/CBS<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Hollace_Kilbride_Gerald_McRaney\"><\/span>Hollace Kilbride (Gerald McRaney)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The retired Navy Admiral has not only taken on a leadership role with the team before, he\u2019s also worked with them in the field, which could come in handy in Hetty\u2019s position. After all, he knows how the team operates, and like Mac, they respect him. (They haven\u2019t always had that luck with people coming in and out of OSP.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-hash=\"7\">\n<div> <picture><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"NCIS Los Angeles Someone New Replaces Hetty\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tvinsider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/ncis-los-angeles-linda-hunt-hetty-office-1014x570.jpg\"><\/img><\/picture><\/div>\n<p><span>Monty Brinton\/CBS<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Someone_new\"><\/span>Someone new<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This is probably the most likely option, as it\u2019s how open spots <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a>ly tend to be filled on this show.
