President Biden was in a talkative mood Wednesday, at one point telling media<\/a> members, \u201cI\u2019m not supposed to be answering all these questions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president delivered remarks from the White House about the ongoing COVID-19 vaccination drive and took a pair of questions \u2014 one about the rising gas prices caused by the Colonial Pipeline cyberattack and the other about the ongoing violence in the Middle East. <\/p>\n

After answering the second question, Biden turned to leave, but was brought up short by an unidentified media member who asked: \u201cWhat\u2019s your take on the end of your meeting, sir? Were you optimistic coming out of it today?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhich one \u2014 which one of the 12 I\u2019ve had?\u201d the president answered<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After the press clarified that they were asking about a meeting between Biden, Vice President Harris and congressional leaders to discuss infrastructure legislation, the president returned to the lectern. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou guys are bad. I\u2019m not supposed to be answering all these questions,\u201d the president said. \u201cI\u2019m supposed to leave, but I can\u2019t resist your questions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The exchange took place days after White House press secretary Jen Psaki admitted that she doesn\u2019t like Biden to have too much face time with the White House press corps.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe takes questions nearly every day he\u2019s out from the press,\u201d Psaki told CNN analyst David Axelrod on \u201cThe Axe Files\u201d podcast May 6. \u201cThat is not something we recommend. In fact, a lot of times, we say, \u2018Don\u2019t take questions.\u2019 But he\u2019s going to do what he wants to do because he\u2019s the president of the United States.\u201d<\/p>\n

Biden has held just one formal news<\/a> conference since his inauguration in January.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
