A Dogecoin (DOGE)-focused division at publicly-traded OTC software firm AppSwarm (SWRM<\/a>) is looking to bring together a global development teams to build off the Dogecoin blockchain.<\/p>\n

DogeLabs, a newly launched<\/a> division of AppSwarm\u2019s blockchain research lab, TulsaLabs, announced Wednesday a new initiative calling on DevOps teams to unite their efforts in building a \u201csort of decentralized network\u201d of DOGE developers across the globe.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese teams would share ideas and provide support for Doge based applications for both commercial and possible larger enterprises within their local jurisdictions under the DogeLabs network,\u201d DogeLabs said in the announcement.<\/p>\n

DogeLabs founder and CEO Thomas Bustamante pointed out<\/a> on DogeLabs official Telegram group that the new initiative would be \u201cquickest and cheapest way to rapidly expand DogeLabs as a global player in Dogecoin.\u201d The Dogecoin lab will review potential partners over coming weeks, Bustamante noted<\/a>, adding that DevOps teams must meet certain criteria that would be posted shortly.<\/p>\n

Currently operating in New York and Tulsa, DogeLabs is a blockchain research lab and startup accelerator focused on commercial applications around the Doge protocol. The lab\u2019s CEO is also tfounder and CEO of AI Venturetech, an artificial intelligence startup that cooperates<\/a> with AppSwarm on its blockchain research lab. The company apparently moved into blockchain development after its securities offering<\/a> was rejected<\/a> by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in 2020.<\/p>\n

AppSwarm did not immedia<\/a>tely respond to Cointelegraph\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Dogecoin-related development appears to be promising as DOGE has emerged as one of the fastest-growing digital currency this year, posting gains of up to 13,500% year-to-date after surging from $0.005 to an all-time high of around<\/a> $0.73. Amid the altcoin\u2019s parabolic growth, Canadian company Geometric Energy Corporation announced plans to send a mission to the moon onboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in a Dogecoin-based deal.<\/p>\n

Launched back in 2013 by IBM software engineer Billy Markus and Adobe engineer Jackson Palmer, Dogecoin is a cryptocurrency based on the popular \u201cDoge\u201d meme featuring a Shiba Inu dog. Dogecoin\u2019s protocol is based on Luckycoin (LKY), which itself derived from the Litecoin blockchain.<\/p>\n
