The ex-NYPD cop charged with murdering his autistic 8-year-old son showed no emotion in a Long Island courtroom Wednesday as prosecutors presented photos of his boy\u2019s shirt, socks and soiled pants.<\/p>\n

Michael Valva\u2019s stoic composure in Suffolk County Supreme court came after he teared up Tuesday when prosecutors played the chilling 911 call he placed the day of little Thomas Valva\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

His former fiancee Angela Pollina, who is also charged with second degree murder, app<\/a>eared to wipe a tear away with a tissue during Wednesday\u2019s pre-trial hearing.<\/p>\n

The photos of Thomas\u2019 clothes were flashed across a screen in the courtroom as Suffolk County Det. Michael Ronca was on the stand discussing his investigation into the boy\u2019s January 2020 death.<\/p>\n

Ronca testified he was at the Center Moriches home when he learned from another detective that Michael Valva had at some point removed his son\u2019s clothing and left them in a white plastic bag in the home\u2019s backyard patio.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was my goal to find that bag,\u201d Ronca said in court.<\/p>\n

Ronca found the small bag outside in the yard, among other large black bags.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou have a children\u2019s shirt, a pair of socks and a pair of pants,\u201d Ronca testified. The detective said the pair of pants was soiled.<\/p>\n

Michael Valva and Pollina are both accused of killing and abusing Thomas, who authorities said died last year from extreme hypothermia after being locked in the couple\u2019s freezing garage overnight.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors claim they left him in an unheated garage while the temperatures outside dipped to 19 degrees.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Suffolk County Police Sergeant Gregory Turzer testified that Pollina told him Thomas had fallen in the driveway.<\/p>\n

Pollina also said that Thomas had defecated and urinated himself. She later told Turzer she allegedly helped Michael Valva bring Thomas to a basement shower \u201cwhere they can get Thomas cleaned up,\u201d the sergeant testified.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Michael Valva\u2019s attorney told reporters outside court that the police needed a warrant to search the home.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe defense is attacking the legality of the search of the residence involved here,\u201d said Valva\u2019s lawyer, Anthony La Pinta.<\/p>\n

Pollina\u2019s lawyer, Matt Touhey, agreed and said Pollina is expected to take the stand during pre-trial hearings this week.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen someone\u2019s innocent, they\u2019re not hiding behind anything and she wants to get up,\u201d Touhey said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAngela\u2019s not really there when this tragedy happens,\u201d Touhey earlier explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s not in control. Mr Valva was.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
