Michael Myers is back, and he\u2019s looking a little crispy in a new\u00a0Halloween Kills<\/em><\/strong> image. The sequel to 2018\u2019s\u00a0Halloween<\/em> once again pits the Shape against the Strode ladies \u2013 Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis<\/strong>), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer<\/strong>), and her granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak<\/strong>). When we last left Michael, he was presumed dead, burned alive in Laurie\u2019s house. But as every single film in this franchise has taught us, Micahel Myers always comes back. See the latest\u00a0Halloween Kills<\/em> image below.<\/p>\n

\nThe new\u00a0Halloween Kills<\/em> image comes from Empire<\/a>, and shows a burned Michael Myers back in action, knife already slick with blood. This latest entry is a direct follow-up to 2018\u2019s\u00a0Halloween<\/em>, and I mean\u00a0direct<\/em> \u2013 it starts mere minutes after the previous film ended. Screenwriter Danny McBride<\/strong> previously said<\/a>: \u201cIt takes place the same night, picking up where the last movie ended\u2026 Events in the film bring together a lot of characters who were in the 1978 film who we didn\u2019t see last time. They gather to try, once and for all, to take down Michael, to stop this madman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Director David Gordon Green<\/strong> added: \u201cThe [2018 movie] was more about Laurie\u2019s life of isolation after Michael and her attempts at revenge. It was personal. This is more about the unraveling of a community into chaos. It\u2019s about how fear spreads virally.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jamie Lee Curtis,\u00a0Judy Greer, and Andi Matichak are returning from the previous film, but they won\u2019t be the only familiar faces.\u00a0Kyle Richards<\/strong>, Nancy Stephens, and Charles Cyphers<\/strong>, who all app<\/a>eared in John Carpenter\u2019s 1978 original, are coming back as well. Richards reprises her role as Lindsey Wallace, one of the kids Laurie babysat in the original film; Stephens is back as Marion Chambers, the nurse who worked with Dr. Loomis; and Cyphers is once again playing\u00a0Leigh Brackett, the former\u00a0sheriff of Haddonfield lost his daughter Annie to Michael Myers in the first film. Anthony Michael Hall<\/strong> is also part of the cast, playing Tommy Doyle, another kid Laurie babysat in the original movie.<\/p>\n

Like 2018\u2019s\u00a0Halloween<\/em>, Halloween Kills<\/em> is more or less ignoring all the other sequels. It\u2019s also the first of two sequels. The next film is\u00a0Halloween Ends<\/em><\/strong>, and it\u2019s meant to bring this current story to a close. \u201cThe name Halloween Ends<\/em>\u00a0is meant to bring some finality,\u201d David Gordon Green said. \u201cFrom our creative standpoint, we wanted people to know that this is a contained trilogy and that after three, we\u2019ll be moving on. We\u2019re trying\u00a0to make it a satisfying close to the story we set out to tell.\u201d<\/p>\n
