Stand-up comic Tig Notaro finds nothing funny about sexual-harassment allegations against actor Chris D\u2019Elia.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think there should be consequences for bad behavior,\u201d Notaro recently told Yahoo! Entertainment<\/a> regarding accusations<\/a> involving reportedly underage girls that arose against him<\/a> last summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Notaro, 50, stepped in to replace the actor \u2014 to the delight of her fans<\/a> \u2014 as a kickass helicopter pilot in Zack Snyder\u2019s upcoming action film \u201cArmy of the Dead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Notaro had previously weighed in with similar sentiments about her former \u201cOne Mississippi\u201d colleague, 53-year-old comic Louis C.K., who has faced accusations<\/a> of inapp<\/a>ropriate behavior, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s important to take care of that, to handle that, because it\u2019s serious to be assaulted,\u201d Notaro told the Daily Beast<\/a> in 2017. \u201cIt\u2019s serious to be harassed. It\u2019s serious, it\u2019s serious, it\u2019s serious.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 41-year-old D\u2019Elia, who denied any misconduct<\/a>, also was subsequently dropped by his agency, CAA.<\/p>\n

Notaro isn\u2019t the only member of the \u201cArmy\u201d who is speaking out. <\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t speak specifically on Chris and that situation,\u201d added Omari Hardwick, who portrays Vanderohe in the flick. \u201cBut I definitely think we live in a society where that which is wrongdoing should be punishable. I was extremely supportive of whatever direction Netflix as a team went. I reached out to Tig immedia<\/a>tely upon watching the film and said, \u2018You did a fantastic job. You\u2019re working by yourself and\u00a0killing\u00a0<\/em>it.\u2019 \u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition, director Snyder said the move to replace D\u2019Elia \u201cseemed like the right thing to do,\u201d indicating that Notaro was a perfect virtual fit. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe really had a blast shooting with her; she\u2019s just hilarious,\u201d he said, adding that she brought her own vibe to the character. \u201cIt\u2019s just Tig! All the circumstances are the same, but Tig\u2019s take tonally changes everything. I think that if you didn\u2019t know [about Chris], you\u2019d just think that Tig was in the movie.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Notaro performed her role as sky jockey Marianne Peters using a green screen so that she could be digitally added to existing footage. \u201cIt was a joy to do what I did, but I would love to be\u00a0in\u00a0<\/em>the next movie that I do,\u201d she joked to Yahoo. \u201cThat\u2019s my dream! I\u2019d love to interact with the cast.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, Notaro told Vulture<\/a> that she was \u201cso baffled\u201d to be chosen by Snyder for the recasting. \u201cI felt like there was some sort of misunderstanding,\u201d she said. Notaro added that she was concerned about even stepping in, not unlike the late \u201cAll the Money in the World\u201d actor Christopher Plummer did for the 2017 Ridley Scott movie when its star, Kevin Spacey, was accused<\/a> of sexual misconduct.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt didn\u2019t seem possible for me to take on what Chris did. We\u2019re such different actors and comedians,\u201d she said. \u201cI honestly thought, regardless of what\u2019s going on in his personal life, that his performance was excellent. But Zack said, \u2018We want you to do exactly what you do.\u2019 And, in turn, that\u2019s all I did.\u201d<\/p>\n

The zombie film, which depicts a gang of mercenaries looking to steal a $200 million payload from a Las Vegas casino, also stars Dave Bautista, Ana de la Reguera, Ella Purnell, Ra\u00fal Castillo, Samantha Win, Garret Dillahunt, Nora Arnezeder, Theo Rossi, Matthias Schweigh\u00f6fer and Huma Qureshi.<\/p>\n

Notaro \u2014 who also can be seen mixing her dry comedic presence with interstellar drama on the Paramount+ series<\/a> \u201cStar Trek: Discovery\u201d \u2014 has additionally lined up an HBO and HBO Max special. This summer, she\u2019ll appear in what has been described as \u201cthe first-ever fully animated stand-up special,\u201d which will be produced by soon-to-retire talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. <\/p>\n

\u201cArmy of the Dead\u201d will premiere in theaters on May 14 and will then stream on Netflix<\/a>, dropping on May 21.\n <\/div>\n
