Everyone is entitled to change their mind, of course, but the front-runner for New York City\u2019s top job has exhibited a cowardly reflexive action any time he\u2019s publicly spanked by voices on the left.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Take who\u2019s to blame for public schools that remain closed. Yang said in March that the United Federation of Teachers \u201chas been a significant reason why our schools have been slow to open.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Is anything more obvious \u2014 or understated? The UFT has long been the sole reason why kids are stuck \u201clearning\u201d at home.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But then, after what he called a \u201cproductive conversation\u201d with UFT head Michael Mulgrew last month, Yang frantically reversed field like a gazelle confronted by a hyena.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mulgrew, Yang said at a union-sponsored event, \u201cconveyed to me that it\u2019s been a failure of leadership on the part of the mayor \u2026 I agree that the mayor has failed the teachers and public school parents\u201d in not reopening the schools.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On to foreign policy: Yang <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/andrewyang\/status\/1391897869137887234\">tweeted<\/a> last week about the Israeli-Palestinian crisis, \u201cI\u2019m standing with the people of Israel who are coming under bombardment attacks, and condemn the Hamas terrorists \u2026 NYC will always stand with our brothers and sisters in Israel who face down terrorism and persevere.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>But \u2014 boomerang! \u2014 all it took for Yang to turn tail were a few tweets from rabidly anti-Israel types, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/aoc\/status\/1392220241472720897\">including from<\/a> Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: \u201cUtterly shameful for Yang to try to show up to an Eid event after sending out a chest-thumping statement of support for a strike killing 9 children, especially after his silence as Al-Aqsa was attacked.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yang sued for peace, saying his tweet \u201cwas overly simplistic\u201d and that his critics were \u201ccorrect\u201d in saying he didn\u2019t \u201cacknowledge the pain and suffering on both sides.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Such instant capitulation surely delights Mulgrew and his fellow municipal union leaders not to mention Gov. Mango<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>How unserious is Yang about actually governing the city? Consider the 180 he recently pulled on bus lanes. Yang long endorsed creating dedicated paths and even entire streets to speed up the lumbering, snail-pace conveyances. His campaign website <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yangforny.com\/policies\/own-our-transportation\">states<\/a>, \u201cA top priority will include building Bus Rapid Transit throughout the city \u2026 The 14th Street Busway is a great example of what we can accomplish.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So in March, bus-lane advocates were flabbergasted when he said he\u2019d be \u201copen to re-examining\u201d the new Flushing, Queens, busway, which runs from Northern Boulevard to Sanford Avenue.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Why the U-turn? He <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/04\/05\/nyregion\/yang-mayor-candidates-nyc.html\">heard<\/a> \u201cnumerous community complaints from people that have said that seniors have had trouble getting to their doctors who are on upper floors \u2026 and prior to the busway, they would get dropped off at the curb by their relatives.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Numerous community complaints! Since every bus lane in town has critics, let\u2019s see him \u201cre-examine\u201d every one of their 140 miles of roadway whenever someone gripes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" alt=\"Rep. He told The Post\u2019s editorial board he\u2019d turn the day-to-day job of running the town over to an underling, such as his mayoral competitor Kathryn Garcia.<\/p>\n<p>Yang, who might have been overtaken by Eric Adams in Democratic primary polls after Thursday night\u2019s debate, <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>arently regards himself as a \u201cdon\u2019t bother me with the details\u201d visionary based on his modest success running a very small company. He forgets that former Mayor Michael Bloomberg was hands-on at City Hall despite being a mega-billionaire with a track record that dwarfs Yang\u2019s meager accomplishments.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg never budged just because someone said something nasty to him. But Yang caves every time his words come back to bite him. The guy shouldn\u2019t get elected mayor of NYC.
