\u201cThe Happ<\/a>iest Place On Earth\u201d is allowing its patrons to be closer to each other again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Walt Disney World has begun relaxing many of its pandemic safety restrictions, including physical distancing in certain areas of the Florida theme park.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cTemporary adjustments are still in place to promote physical distancing,\u201d a recent update on Disney\u2019s site announced, ClickOrlando reported<\/a>. \u201cWhile we will reduce physical distancing measures for guests across many areas with a gradual, phased approach, six-feet distancing measures will continue in all dining locations, merchandise stores and in areas where guests can temporarily remove their masks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Physical distancing requirements in ride queues, parking lots and on the rides themselves also appear to have been removed from Disney\u2019s website, Forbes noted<\/a>. The distancing changes follow the State of Florida reducing its distancing requirement from six to three feet.<\/p>\n

As well, the theme park ended temperature screenings for cast members on May 8, and will stop requiring them of guests on May 16.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With specific exceptions, face coverings are still required inside the park, although that may soon change following the CDC\u2019s Thursday greenlight to fully vaccinated individuals to stop wearing masks indoors in most circumstances.<\/p>\n

Beginning in April, Disney started allowing visitors to temporarily remove their masks while posing for outdoor photos, an addition to the existing exceptions of dining and swimming.<\/p>\n

April also saw the reopening of Disney\u2019s two California theme parks, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Park, which had been closed for over a year due to the coronavirus pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Various other COVID requirements still remain in place<\/a>, and Disney emphasizes that is closely following official updates when determining its protocols.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAs guidance has continued to evolve, we \u2014 with the support of health and government officials \u2014 will be making more gradual adjustments,\u201d reads Disney\u2019s website. \u201cAs COVID-19 vaccines become available, we encourage people to get vaccinated.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
