The leading cryptocurrency by market cap finished the trading day down about 8%, around $44,400, according to Coindesk data. While bitcoin and other cryptos are traded 24 hours a day, the daily session ends at 5 p.m. Eastern. Bitcoin is down about 18% over the past five days, and 27% over the past month, though is still up 53% year to date.<\/p>\n<p>Ethereum<br \/>\n        ETHUSD,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/108573964\/realtime\" class=\"positive\">+4.62%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       sank about 11% on Sunday, and Ripple<br \/>\n        XRPUSD,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/108573966\/realtime\" class=\"positive\">+4.32%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       fell around 8%.<\/p>\n<p>Crypto prices \u2014 especially the prices of bitcoin and dogecoin \u2014 have swung wildly over the past week following comments by Musk, starting with his \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>earance.<\/p>\n<p>Musk\u2019s comment Sunday came days after he announced Tesla would no longer accept bitcoin as payment for it cars, citing the negative environmental effects caused by the high energy usage that bitcoin mining takes. He later tweeted that dogecoin is a \u201cpotentially promising\u201d alternative, sending its prices soaring.<\/p>\n<p>Dogecoin<br \/>\n        DOGEUSD,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/226077044\/realtime\" class=\"positive\">+1.65%<\/bg-quote><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       meanwhile, slipped Sunday to about 48 cents, still up about 3% over the past five trading sessions.<\/p>\n<p>Tesla<br \/>\n        TSLA,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/203558040\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+3.16%<\/bg-quote><br \/>\n       bought about $1.5 billion in bitcoin earlier this year.
