Cancel culture has simply gone too far. <\/p>\n

Sacha Baron Cohen has officially canceled his beloved \u2014 but controversial \u2014 satirical characters.<\/p>\n

Sunday night at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, the 49-year-old filmmaker was honored with the Comedic Genius gong, bringing his characters Ali G,\u00a0Borat\u00a0Sagdiyev, Bruno Gehard and Admiral General<\/a> Aladeen along for the occasion \u2014 and making the executive decision to end his categorically un-PC schticks.<\/p>\n

Following an introduction by Seth Rogen, who app<\/a>lauded the British satirist for \u201creveal[ing] the truth about the human condition by utilizing brilliant wit and sharp, insightful commentary,\u201d Cohen and the gang accepted \u2014 and fought over \u2014 the award via a pre-recorded speech.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you Prince Harry,\u201d the Kazakh broadcaster began. \u201cI\u2019m very excited to be on this brand-new music television channel.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very happy to be accepting this cup of gold teeth instead of Sacha Baron Cohen and will put it in our national museum along with other treasure we have confiscated from Jews,\u201d Borat continued. \u201cHigh five!\u201d<\/p>\n

Then, chavvish celebrity correspondent Ali G entered the frame. \u201cWe should be accepting this award, not you. I was the original gangster. The OG,\u201d he interrupted. <\/p>\n

The well-acquainted pair briefly caught up over Borat\u2019s return in the acclaimed \u201cSubsequent Moviefilm,\u201d as Ali G complained that it was \u201cwack.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only good bit was in that hotel room when that fly honey in the blue dress was about to be boned by Rudi Guli-Andrews. Then you come in and ruin it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Then, Cohen himself arrived to take what is rightfully his, but not before dragging Ali G for being a \u201cwhite suburban kid who\u2019s coo-opting black culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI created you,\u201d said Cohen. \u201cYou created me? That is typical white privilege innit?\u201d Ali G responded before exiting the frame. <\/p>\n

\u201cThank you MTV; to the millions of fans out there who voted for me, I salute you. This is yours, I\u2019d be nothing without you. I\u2019m so humbled by this. I\u2019m just a human being creating complex nuanced characters \u2014 sophisticated tools to expose \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n

Cohen ekes out a few lines of gratitude before Bruno appears, wearing a pink unitard with one ghastly appendage hanging from the front: \u201cDid somebody say they want me to expose my sophisticated tool?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re ruining this,\u201d said Cohen. \u201cYou can\u2019t say that stuff unless you\u2019re exposing homophobia with real people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bruno briefly gabs over missing BTS and craving \u201cKorean barbecue\u201d before Cohen turns to the camera and declares to the audience: \u201cBefore anyone else does it, I am officially canceling myself \u2014 I was actually really looking forward to this after losing the Oscar. You can f -\u2009- king keep it,\u201d he said, in reference to his 2021 Academy Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actor in \u201cThe Trial of the Chicago 7,\u201d as well as Best Adapted Screenplay for the \u201cBorat\u201d sequel \u2014 both of which Cohen lost.<\/p>\n

Exasperated, Cohen walks away from the podium as Bruno takes the Golden Popcorn award for himself and thanks his \u201cwundebar<\/em> glam squad.\u201d In the last seconds, Admiral General Aladeen appears before the tape was cut. <\/p>\n

Cohen was nominated for three awards that night: Best Movie and Best Duo with Maria Bakalova for \u201cBorat, as well as Best Performance in a Movie for \u201cThe Trial of the Chicago 7.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor and comedia<\/a>n has already vowed to retire the character of Borat during the Golden Globes earlier this year, revealing to audiences that it was \u201cprobably the most dangerous project I had to work on,\u201d he said. \u201cThe gray suit is locked up and not coming out again.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
