International, the mystifying New Jersey deli company that is valued at nearly $100 million on the stock market \u2014 despite running just a single deli \u2014 has ousted its CEO, according to a financial filing.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>Paul Morina, a local high school principal and renowned wrestling coach in the area, was removed after a vote by majority shareholders, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/sec.report\/Document\/0001213900-21-026506\/\">according to the late Friday filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Morina owns about 1.5 million shares of the Paulsboro-based company, which are worth more than $18.5 million based on the company\u2019s current stock price.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Shareholders of the company also ousted the company\u2019s only other executive, vice president and secretary Christine Lindenmuth, who works in her day job with Morina as an administrator at Paulsboro High School.<\/p>\n<p>The shareholders responsible for ousting the executives, who remain principals in the deli, did not provide a reason for the firings, according to the filing with the SEC, which is dated May 12.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/news\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"2\" title=\"News\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news<\/a> comes about a month after Hometown International first drew scrutiny when hedge fund manager David Einhorn pointed out the company\u2019s seemingly outsized market capitalization. <\/p>\n<p>Einhorn used the publicly traded company, which is listed on the over-the-counter market, as a warning sign for investors in a letter to clients.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" Maps<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Einhorn noted that the company had reached that eye-popping valuation despite reporting total sales of less than $37,000 over the past two years and was closed for nearly half of 2020 due to pandemic restrictions.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pastrami must be amazing,\u201d Einhorn wrote in April.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last month, the management of Hometown International disavowed the company\u2019s bizarre valuation, <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1632081\/000121390021023979\/ea140218-8k_hometowninter.htm\">according to SEC filings<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cManagement is aware of no basis to support the Company\u2019s stock price, based upon its revenue or assets,\u201d the company said in an April 30 statement.<\/p>\n<p>Last week\u2019s filing says Morina was replaced as CEO by Hong Kong-based Peter Coker Jr., who\u2019s also Hometown International\u2019s chairman. <\/p>\n<p>Coker Jr.\u2019s father, Peter Coker Sr., is a 78-year-old North Carolina businessman who\u2019s a substantial shareholder of Hometown International.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/04\/19\/hometown-international-nj-deli-linked-legal-problems.html\">CNBC previously reported<\/a> that the senior Coker has been sued for <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mcall.com\/news\/mc-xpm-1992-10-13-2892776-story.html\">allegedly hiding money from creditors<\/a> and <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bizjournals.com\/triangle\/news\/2019\/07\/01\/three-years-after-bankruptcy-southern-season.html\">business-related fraud<\/a>. He has denied wrongdoing in those cases, one of which settled out of court in North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p>And until recently, a firm controlled by Coker Sr., Tryon Capital, was collecting $15,000 a month from Hometown International under a consulting agreement.
