When he is profiled and arrested in the second half of the seven-minute track, the 70-year-old\u2019s song sends chills that the same injustices go on today.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Prince_%E2%80%9CSign_o_the_Times%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>Prince, \u201cSign o\u2019 the Times\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8EdxM72EZ94?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;autohide=2&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;wmode=transparent\" title=\"Video\" width=\"640\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As much as he sang about sex and his own kind of spirituality, the artist born Prince Rogers Nelson \u2014 who would have turned 62 Sunday \u2014 also had a revolutionary spirit when it came to his <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">social<\/a> consciousness. So spare that you could really hear the message in the music, the title track of his 1987 masterwork was his own \u201cWhat\u2019s Going On.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Janet_Jackson_%E2%80%9CRhythm_Nation%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>Janet Jackson, \u201cRhythm Nation\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OAwaNWGLM0c?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;autohide=2&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;wmode=transparent\" title=\"Video\" width=\"640\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In all of her considerable catalog, Miss Jackson made her most important statement with the title track of her 1989 blockbuster, \u201cJanet Jackson\u2019s Rhythm Nation 1814.\u201d And the image of her dancing in lockstep with an army of change agents to \u201cjoin voices in protest to social injustice\u201d remains a powerful one.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Beyonce_%E2%80%9CFreedom%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>Beyonc\u00e9, \u201cFreedom\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ZDyqv5AJChk?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;autohide=2&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;wmode=transparent\" title=\"Video\" width=\"640\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Yes, Beyonc\u00e9 was a woman taking a bat to a sorry man \u2014 presumably, her husband, Jay-Z \u2014 on her 2016 insta-classic \u201cLemonade.\u201d But when she paired with Kendrick Lemar on the ferocious \u201cFreedom,\u201d she was a black woman ready to burn down whatever was blocking her complete and utter liberation.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kendrick_Lamar_%E2%80%9CAlright%E2%80%9D\"><\/span><strong>Kendrick Lamar, \u201cAlright\u201d<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span><iframe loading=\"lazy\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Z-48u_uWMHY?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;fs=1&#038;autohide=2&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;wmode=transparent\" title=\"Video\" width=\"640\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p>On this Grammy-winning anthem from 2015\u2019s \u201cTo Pimp a Butterfly,\u201d K-Dot breaks it down why \u201cwe hate po-po, wanna kill us dead in the street fo sho.\u201d Sadly, that was exactly what happened to George Floyd. But Lamar will not be defeated: \u201cDo you hear me? Do you feel me?
