The alphabet network has unveiled its plans for the 2021-22 broadcast season. Returning to ABC\u00a0will be 20\/20, America\u2019s Funniest Home Videos, American Idol, The Bachelorette, Big Sky, Black-ish, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, The Conners, Dancing with the Stars, The Goldbergs, The Good Doctor, Grey\u2019s Anatomy, A Million Little Things, The Rookie, Shark Tank, Station 19, <\/em>and\u00a0Supermarket Sweep<\/em>.<\/p>\n

New shows include Abbott Elementary, Maggie, Queens, Women of the Movement,<\/em> and The Wonder Years<\/em> (reboot).<\/p>\n

The fates of shows like The Bachelor<\/em> (sure to be renewed), The Con, The Genetic Detective, Match Game<\/a>, Pooch Perfect,<\/em> and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire<\/em> are still unknown.<\/p>\n

Craig Erwich, president, Hulu Originals & ABC Entertainment, today unveiled the ABC primetime schedule for the 2021-2022 season, featuring tentpole returning shows and bold, fresh new series. The network continues to deliver on its success as the season\u2019s No. 1 entertainment network among Adults 18-49 for the second year in a row. This marks the first time the network has won back-to-back consecutive seasons in entertainment in 25 years. ABC also has three of the top five highest-rated entertainment series, the most for any network, with \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy,\u201d \u201cThe Bachelor\u201d and \u201cThe Bachelorette.\u201d<\/p>\n

Debuting this fall is the highly anticipated comedy \u201cThe Wonder Years\u201d from Saladin K. Patterson (\u201cDave,\u201d \u201cThe Big Bang Theory\u201d), Lee Daniels (\u201cEmpire,\u201d \u201cThe United States vs. Billie Holiday\u201d) and original series star Fred Savage; and from Zahir McGhee (\u201cScandal\u201d), the buzzed-about hip-hop drama series \u201cQueens,\u201d starring Eve, Naturi Naughton, Nadine Velazquez and Brandy, which will feature original music performed by cast members.<\/p>\n

Previously announced fan-favorites \u201cAmerica\u2019s Funniest Home Videos,\u201d \u201cThe Bachelorette,\u201d \u201cBig Sky,\u201d \u201cThe Conners,\u201d \u201cDancing with the Stars,\u201d \u201cThe Goldbergs,\u201d \u201cThe Good Doctor,\u201d \u201cGrey\u2019s Anatomy,\u201d \u201cA Million Little Things,\u201d \u201cThe Rookie,\u201d \u201cShark Tank\u201d and \u201cStation 19\u201d are also set to return this fall.<\/p>\n

Additionally, ABC\u2019s newest critically acclaimed comedy, \u201cHome Economics,\u201d returns at its new time \u2013 Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET\/PT; and \u201cCelebrity Wheel of Fortune\u201d returns on a new night \u2013 Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET\/PT, followed by \u201cSupermarket Sweep\u201d at its new time, 9:00 p.m. ET\/PT.<\/p>\n

Groundbreaking comedy \u201cblack-ish\u201d will receive a deserving sendoff as it returns in midseason for its eighth and final run.<\/p>\n

The momentous limited series \u201cWomen of the Movement\u201d will premiere as a midseason event, shining a light on Emmett Till\u2019s mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, whose fight for justice for her murdered son galvanized the civil rights movement.<\/p>\n

Freshman comedies \u201cMaggie\u201d and \u201cAbbott Elementary,\u201d as well as \u201cAmerican Idol,\u201d will also debut midseason.<\/p>\n

Additional midseason renewals and pickup decisions on the network\u2019s remaining drama pilots will be made at a later time.<\/p>\n

NEW FALL SERIES<\/p>\n

QUEENS (Tuesdays, 10:00 p.m. ET)
\nEstranged and out-of-touch, four women in their 40s reunite for a chance to recapture their fame and regain the swagger they had as the Nasty Bitches \u2013 their \u201990s group that made them legends in the hip-hop world.<\/p>\n

\u201cQueens\u201d stars Eve as Brianna aka Professor Sex, Naturi Naughton as Jill aka Da Thrill, Nadine Velazquez as Valeria aka Butter Pecan, Taylor Sel\u00e9 as Eric Jones, Pepi Sonuga as Lil Muffin and Brandy as Naomi aka Xplicit Lyrics.<\/p>\n

Zahir McGhee, Sabrina Wind and Tim Story are executive producers. The series is produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios. The pilot episode is written by Zahir McGhee and directed by Tim Story.

With the wisdom of his adult years, Dean\u2019s hopeful and humorous recollections show how his family found their \u201cwonder years\u201d in a turbulent time.<\/p>\n

\nIn this workplace comedy, a group of dedicated, passionate teachers \u2014 and a slightly tone-deaf principal \u2014 are brought together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these incredible educators may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do \u2014 even if they don\u2019t love the school district\u2019s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.<\/p>\n

\u201cAbbott Elementary\u201d stars Quinta Brunson as Janine Teagues, Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti and Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard.<\/p>\n

MAGGIE
\nBased on the short film by Tim Curcio, \u201cMaggie\u201d follows a young woman trying to cope with life as a psychic. Maggie regularly sees the future of her friends, parents, clients and random strangers on the street, but when she suddenly sees a glimpse of her own future, Maggie is forced to start living in her own present.<\/p>\n

The series stars Rebecca Rittenhouse as Maggie, David Del Rio as Ben, Nichole Sakura as Louise, Angelique Cabral as Amy, Leonardo Nam as Dave, Ray Ford as Angel, Chloe Bridges as Jessie, Kerri Kenney as Maria and Chris Elliott as Jack.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWomen of the Movement\u201d tells the story of Mamie Till-Mobley, who in 1955 risks her life to find justice after her son Emmett is brutally murdered in the Jim Crow South. Unwilling to let Emmett\u2019s murder disappear from the headlines, Mamie chooses to bear her pain on the world stage, emerging as an activist for justice and igniting the Civil Rights movement as we know it today.<\/p>\n
