“#Hulu Orders Chippendales Series<\/a> ‘Immigrant’ With Kumail Nanjiani<\/strong>”

Hulu is taking a look into the world of the Chippendales male dance troupe with its latest straight-to-series order.<\/p>\n

The streaming service announced that it has ordered the eight-episode limited series Immigrant<\/em>, from Robert Siegel (creator of Pam & Tommy<\/em><\/a>, also coming to Hulu) and Kumail Nanjiani<\/a>, who will star and executive produce.<\/p>\n

Immigrant<\/em> tells the true story of Somen \u201cSteve\u201d Banerjee (Nanjiani), the Indian-American entrepreneur who started Chippendales. It will take a look at the insane, darkly comedic, crime-ridden story behind the unique male revue that went on to become a cultural phenomenon.<\/p>\n

Joining writer Siegel and Nanjiani as executive producers are Dylan Sellers and Emily V. Gordon and Rajiv Joseph and Mehar Sethi who will also write on the series. Immigrant<\/em> is produced by 20th Television.<\/p>\n

Nanjiani\u2019s TV credits include Bless the Harts<\/em><\/a>, Silicon Valley<\/em><\/a>, Portlandia<\/em><\/a>, Community<\/em><\/a>, and Franklin & Bash<\/em>. He can also be seen in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi<\/em><\/a> series on Disney+.<\/p>\n

Immigrant<\/em> joins other upcoming Hulu projects including the aforementioned Pam & Tommy<\/em>, Nine Perfect Strangers<\/em><\/a>, Only Murders in the Building<\/em><\/a>, The Dropout<\/em><\/a>, and How I Met Your Father<\/em> (a sequel to How I Met Your Mother<\/em><\/a>). First looks at Pam & Tommy<\/em> (via photos of Lily James<\/a> and Sebastian Stan<\/a>) as well as new photos and trailers for Nine Perfect Strangers<\/em> and Only Murders in the Building<\/em> have been released. They join the streaming service\u2019s current slate that includes The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em><\/a>, The Act<\/em><\/a>, and Ramy<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
