The AI paper plane, for instance, addressed its interlocutor as \u201cmy good friend\u201d while Pluto complained that it\u2019s an under-<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>reciated planet.<\/p>\n<p>In a blog post, Google said that LaMDA \u2014 short for \u201cLanguage Model for Dialogue Applications\u201d \u2014 is built on Transformer, the same neural network architecture used to create\u00a0<span>BERT and GPT-3:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>That architecture produces a model that can be trained to read many words (a sentence or paragraph, for example), pay attention to how those words relate to one another, and then predict what words it thinks will come next.<\/p>\n<p>But unlike most other language models, LaMDA was trained on dialogue. During its training, it picked up on several of the nuances that distinguish open-ended conversation from other forms of language. One of those nuances is sensibleness. Basically: does the response to a given conversational context make sense?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The flow of the conversations was impressively lifelike in the demo, but the model sometimes generated nonsensical responses \u2014 like Pluto claiming it\u2019s been practicing flips in outer space, or abruptly ending the conversation to go flying.<\/p>\n<p>It remains a research project for now, but Pichai suggested it could be used in a range of products:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We believe LaMDA\u2019s natural conversation capabilities have the potential to make information and computing radically more accessible and easier to use. We look forward to incorporating better conversational features into products like <span id=\"urn:enhancement-3\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"http:\/\/data.thenextweb.com\/tnw\/entity\/google_4\">Google Assistant<\/span>, Search, and Workspace.
