Chicago is ready to rock once again this summer!<\/p>\n

The famed Lollapalooza music festival is returning to the shores of Lake Michigan at full capacity July 29 to Aug. 1 \u2014 a year after it was unplugged by the pandemic, and a year earlier than organizers once predicted it would return.<\/p>\n

The festival\u2019s lineup will be unveiled Wednesday morning at 10 a.m., and tickets will go on sale at noon, Chicago officials said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere in Chicago, the word \u2018Lollapalooza\u2019 has always been synonymous with summer, great music and four days of unforgettable fun \u2014 which made last year\u2019s decision to postpone it all the more difficult,\u201d Mayor Lori Lightfoot said in a news<\/a> release.<\/p>\n

To enter the four-day festival in Grant Park, ticket holders will need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or show a negative test result, organizers said.<\/p>\n

The festival, which began in 1991, usually attracts about 100,000 fans to see some 170 alternative rock, hip-hop and electronic acts perform on eight stages.<\/p>\n

Health officials said they feel comfortable staging the concert due to declining coronavirus metrics in the city.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a reason to celebrate and why we\u2019re able to make this announcement today,\u201d city Health Commissioner Dr. Allison Arwady said.<\/p>\n
