The holidays are over but The Moodys<\/em> isn\u2019t. FOX has announced that they\u2019ve renewed the comedy series for a second season of 6-13 episodes. It\u2019s unclear when season two will air but it won\u2019t be holiday-theme<\/a>d.<\/p>\n

The Moodys<\/em> comedy series revolves around the Moody family of five. In the first season, they are a tight-knit, though slightly dysfunctional, group that gathers in their hometown of Chicago for the \u201cperfect\u201d holiday. Each Moody has his\/her own eccentricities and is also hiding secrets from the other members of the family. The cast includes Denis Leary, Elizabeth Perkins, Jay Baruchel, Chelsea Frei, and Francois Arnaud.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Airing last December (when viewership is typically lower), the\u00a0first season of\u00a0The Moodys<\/em> averaged a 0.50 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.92 million viewers.<\/p>\n

Series Stars Emmy and Golden Globe Nominees Denis Leary and Elizabeth Perkins<\/p>\n

FOX has renewed the critically acclaimed comedy series THE MOODYS for a second season, it was announced today by Michael Thorn, President, Entertainment, FOX Entertainment. Starring and executive-produced by Emmy Award and Golden Globe nominees Denis Leary (\u201cRescue Me\u201d) and Elizabeth Perkins (\u201cSharp Objects\u201d), THE MOODYS follows a tight-knit, but slightly dysfunctional, family through their misadventures.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith THE MOODYS, we set out to brand the holidays in the only way FOX can \u2013 bold and unconventional. What we ended up with was a special show \u2013 and a family \u2013 everyone at the network fell in love with,\u201d said Thorn. \u201cBob Fisher, Rob Greenberg and Tad Quill perfectly captured the hysterics of Christmas, with sharp banter and real moments of family togetherness brought to life by Denis Leary, Elizabeth Perkins and the rest of the incredible cast. Eric and Kim Tannenbaum and CBS Television Studios have been great partners on this series; and, simply put, we\u2019re looking forward to The Moodys\u2019 future adventures.\u201d<\/p>\n

THE MOODYS family includes SEAN SR. (Leary), his wife, ANN (Perkins), and their three grown children \u2013 DAN (Francois Arnaud, \u201cMidnight, Texas\u201d), the youngest of the siblings and the \u201ccreative one\u201d; BRIDGET (Chelsea Frei, \u201cSideswiped\u201d), the middle sister and the \u201coverachiever\u201d; and SEAN JR. (Jay Baruchel, \u201cMan Seeking Woman,\u201d the \u201cHow to Train Your Dragon\u201d franchise), the oldest sibling and \u201cscrew-up,\u201d still living at home with his parents. THE MOODYS also features Mar\u00eda Gabriela de Far\u00eda (\u201cDeadly Class\u201d), Josh Segarra (\u201cOrange Is the New Black\u201d), Kevin Bigley (\u201cHere and Now\u201d) and Gerry Dee (\u201cMr. D.\u201d).<\/p>\n
