How do you play down a 10-foot chandelier? Put a barn around it!<\/p>\n

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher designed their solar-powered contemporary farmhouse in an earthy style to balance some of their more \u2014 *ahem* \u2014\u00a0interesting pieces.<\/p>\n

The first piece is a 10-foot crystal chandelier that once hung in the married couple\u2019s original Beverly Hills Post Office home \u2014 now, it\u2019s in a barn-like guest house on their 6-acre estate. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt was all designed around this chandelier that we thought was so obnoxious that we had in a previous house, and we were like, how do we make the chandelier less obnoxious? Let\u2019s put a barn around it!\u201d Kunis, 37, first revealed on the \u201cKelly and Ryan\u201d show<\/a> last month.<\/p>\n

A set of silver throne chairs Kutcher, 43, commissioned on a trip<\/a> to India were also crucial to the design plans, according to the June issue of Architectural Digest<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cI got this job because I promised I could make a home for those, shall we say, formidable pieces,\u201d\u00a0interior designer Vicky Charles of Charles & Co. told the magazine.<\/p>\n

They demolished a barn that had been converted into a house on the Beverly Hills Post Office-area property. Then, they got to work on the five-year project called \u201cKuku farms\u201d \u2014 for Kutcher and Kunis \u2014 led by architect Howard Backen of Backen & Gillam Architects, according to Architectural Digest. <\/p>\n

The main house has a light, natural wood wraparound porch surrounded by lush greenery, photos show. <\/p>\n

Inside, the steep mansard-roofed open living and dining room has oak floors and concrete walls. One side has a writing desk, a grand piano and a dining table for 10 on an antique rug. On the other side, the room has green Montauk sofas and a fireplace, photos show. <\/p>\n

The tiled kitchen is lit by Hector Finch pendants. It has a white tiled backsplash, a large island bar and a breakfast area, photos show. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf the world around you isn\u2019t in order, it\u2019s hard to get your brain in order. When we\u2019re in our home, the world just makes sense,\u201d Kutcher told Architectural Digest.<\/p>\n

The guest house, which houses the storied chandelier and at least two bedrooms, has 19-foot slider windows from floor to ceiling. It is furnished with custom couches covered in Pindler outdoor fabric, according to Architectural Digest. <\/p>\n

Beside the guest house is a stone pool with the peaked-roof, wooden barbecue pavilion, photos show. <\/p>\n

The \u201cThat \u201970s show\u201d<\/a> couple began the project when Kunis was pregnant <\/a>with their now 6-year-old daughter Wyatt. Since then, the pair have given birth to a son, 4-year-old Dimitri.<\/p>\n

They first listed their Beverly Hills Post Office home for $14 million in May 2020, and it was last listed for $12.25 million, The Post previously reported<\/a>. <\/a><\/p>\n

They also own a Carpinteria beach house, which reports placed at $10 million<\/a>, though Realtor.com records suggest<\/a> they paid only $4.1 million for their vacation home.\n <\/div>\n
