Rep. Rashida Tlaib took part in an event with a pro-Palestine activist who she distanced herself from two years ago when it surfaced he\u2019d shared a video referencing \u201cSatanic\u201d Jews.<\/p>\n

Tlaib was shown in a screenshot of a virtual event and listed on a flyer posted on Instagram by activist Maher Abdel-qader in March<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Abdel-qader called the event, held for Viriginia lieutenant governor candidate Sam Rasoul, great and successful and said the Michigan congresswoman \u201cprovided a solidarity message.\u201d The flyer listed suggested donation levels between $100 and $5,000.<\/p>\n

The activist, one of several listed hosts, had come under fire in 2019 when the site The Daily Caller outlined his connections to Tlaib, who followed Abdel-qader\u2019s Facebook<\/a> group called \u201cPalestinian American Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n

He was found to have shared since-deleted posts on his page that had anti-Semitic content including a video that said Jews controlled the media and another that said Jews in Israel were not \u201creal Jews.\u201d<\/p>\n

He later apologized for sharing the videos.<\/p>\n

Tlaib\u2019s office didn\u2019t return a call from The Post. In 2019, The New York Times asked her<\/a> about her relationship with Abdel-qader.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is unfair to be held responsible for the statements of others, especially when my actions \u2014 including votes as a Michigan legislator and leading the Take On Hate campaign \u2014 make clear that I oppose all forms of hate and condemn those who dehumanize others,\u201d she said in a letter to the Times.<\/p>\n

The posts about the recent fundraiser came to light as Tlaib has made headlines over her encounter with President Biden at a Detroit airport on Tuesday. <\/p>\n

The Palestinian-American congresswoman and member of \u201cThe Squad\u201d pushed the president in a conversation on the tarmac to take a stronger stance on Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as violence continued in the Gaza Strip<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cPalestinian human rights are not a bargaining chip and must be protected, not negotiated,\u201d the aide told NPR.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
