Thomson Reuters, the parent company of Reuters News, holds a 15% stake in LSEG following its $27 billion all-stock deal in 2019 for Refinitiv. The LSE\u2019s purchase of Refinitiv took two years to complete \u2014 amid regulatory requirements and COVID-19 pandemic-driven snags.<\/p>\n<p>In a joint statement to MarketWatch, spokespeople for LSEG and Thomson Reuters said they had a long standing and valued partnership.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cJust as with any commercial agreement, there are ongoing and private discussions about our business <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>roach and products,\u201d the statement added. \u201cThe foundation of our partnership is strong and we will continue to work together to deliver for all of our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Refinitiv was part of Thomson Reuters until 2018 when a majority stake was purchased by private-equity firm Blackstone Group in a deal valuing the business at about $20 billion. That deal included a $325 million-a-year agreement for Reuters to provide its news with Refinitiv\u2019s largest financial services customers, including JPMorgan, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and Goldman Sachs<strong>. <\/strong>In 2019, LSE announced its intention to buy Refinitiv.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The letter requests \u201ca prompt meeting to facilitate a resolution\u201d to the matter, and adds that Refinitiv has the right to take actions permitted under the terms of its news agreement with Reuters. A description of the agreement in a 2019 circular to LSEG shareholders states that either party \u201ccan bring an action (including a claim for specific performance or injunctive relief) in the New York courts\u201d if any disputes arising from the agreement cannot be resolved amicably.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reuters in April unveiled a redesigned website, in a bid to attract a professional audience for its business, financial and <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/general\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"3\" title=\"General\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">general<\/a> news, as part of a wider strategy to boost revenue from its digital news readership. It billed the change as \u201cthe largest digital transformation at Reuters in a decade.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After registration and a free preview period, a subscription to Reuters.com will cost $34.99 a month, the same as Bloomberg\u2019s digital subscription. The offering, available as monthly or annual and individual or group packages, will also include live streams of Reuters events for subscribers and subscriber-only newsletter, the news agency said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"cx-membership-tile\"><\/div>\n<p>As part of the 2018 deal, Refinitiv agreed to pay Reuters News $325 million a year until 2048.
