Studio Z is now developing a smartphone game app based on the current <\/span>Shaman King<\/span><\/i> anime<\/a> series<\/a>. Titled Shaman King: Funbari Chronicle<\/em>, it is slated for release this year on iOS and Android devices, and is stated to be downloadable for free, with the option to make in-app purchases. Pre-registration will start from July this year.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The game is set to feature 3D graphics as well as a \u201cMangatic mode\u201d where players can experience the manga\u2019s storyline. Players will also form their own teams by utilising characters from the series. It was also revealed that the game will feature new illustrations of characters that cannot be found in the source material, as well as famous scenes from <\/span>Shaman King<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Shaman King<\/span><\/i> reboot is currently streamed by Netflix in Japan <\/span><\/span>and was adapted from the manga by Hiroyuki Takei. The manga first received an anime adaptation in 2001, where Xebec was in charge of animation production. The reboot is slated to <\/span>stream<\/span> <\/a>worldwide via Netflix sometime this year.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>anime<\/span>\u2019s staff includes Jouji Furuta (<\/span>The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments<\/span><\/i>) as director, Jouji Yonemura (<\/span>Wave, Listen to Me!<\/span><\/i>) as series composer, Sano Satohiko (<\/span>Talentless Nana<\/span><\/i>) as character designer, Masaaki Kawaguchi (<\/span>Talentless Nana<\/span><\/i>) as art director, Natsuko Ootsuka (<\/span>In\/Spectre<\/span><\/i>) as color designer, Teruyuki Kawase (<\/span>Talentless Nana<\/span><\/i>) as photography director, and Y\u016bki Hayashi (<\/span>My Hero Academia<\/span><\/i>) as music composer. Studio Bridge is in charge of the animation production.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The cast includes Y\u014dko Hikasa (<\/span>Cells at Work! CODE BLACK<\/span><\/i>) as You Asakura, Katsuyuki Konishi (<\/span>Deca-Dence<\/span><\/i>) as Amidamaru, Inuko Inuyama (<\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Journeys: The Series<\/span><\/i>) as Manta Oyamada, Megumi Hayashibara (<\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Journeys: The Series<\/span><\/i>) as Anna Ky\u014dyama, Romi Park (<\/span>Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood<\/span><\/i>) as Tao Ren, and Kousuke Takaguchi (<\/span>Guilty Crown<\/span><\/i>) as Bason. Other cast members include Masahiko Tanaka (<\/span>Obsolete<\/span><\/i>) as Ry\u016bnosuke Umemiya, Wataru Takagi (<\/span>Dorohedoro<\/span><\/i>) as Tokagerou, and Minami Yakayama (<\/span>Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope\u2019s Peak High School<\/span><\/i>) as Hao.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Kodansha Comics<\/span> announced last year<\/span> that it will distribute the entire manga series in English on Amazon\u2019s ComiXology. The series is described as:\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In the world of Shaman King, shamans possess mysterious powers that allow them to commune with gods, spirits, and even the dead\u2026and Manta Oyamada\u2019s about to learn all about them, because his class just welcomed a new transfer student: Yoh Asakura, a boy from way off in Izumo\u2026and a shaman in training!<\/span><\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

The manga debuted in Shueisha\u2019s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1998, ending the series in 2004 before a \u201ctrue ending\u201d was revealed in 2009 due to a reprint of the series. All 35 volumes are <\/span>available<\/span> under the ComiXology Originals line of digital comics since July last year.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
