Tennessee lawmakers are expressing alarm after videos emerged showing airplanes quietly transporting unaccompanied illegal immigrant children into the state in the dead of night \u2014 after the state\u2019s governor told the president last week not to bring them there.<\/p>\n

In videos obtained by local station WRCB-TV Channel 3<\/a> Wednesday, multiple planes carrying the minors could be seen arriving at Wilson Air Center in Chattanooga in the middle of the night. <\/p>\n

In another video posted Thursday, the children, who carried matching bags and app<\/a>eared to be in their early teens, were put on buses staged on the tarmac. <\/p>\n

In total, there were four buses. <\/p>\n

The White House did not immedia<\/a>tely respond to The Post\u2019s request for comment on the videos. Nor did the Department of Homeland Security. <\/p>\n

Speaking to Fox News<\/a>, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) accused the Biden administration of transporting migrants in \u201cthe dead of night without the knowledge or permission of the communities involved.\u201d<\/p>\n

A Blackburn aide told The Post that their office was \u201cconfident\u201d that more planes were on the way. <\/p>\n

They noted there had already been three plane arrivals in one week that they were aware of, with the most recent being spotted Wednesday morning. <\/p>\n

Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) also fumed about the planes when reached by Fox News<\/a>, saying in a statement, \u201cI have warned for months that\u00a0President Biden\u2019s\u00a0failure at the border would result in a systematic resettling of migrants in our communities, burdening our schools, hospitals, and law enforcement agencies, and bringing an increase in drug trafficking and human smuggling.<\/p>\n

\u201cA new reality is happening in our country \u2014 every town is now a border town.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Republican Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee led a group of 20 GOP governors in writing a letter to Biden to urge him to take immediate action to handle the border crisis. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe crisis is too big to ignore and is now spilling over the border states into all of our states,\u201d Lee and his GOP counterparts warned. <\/p>\n

\u201cAllowing the federal government to place a potentially unlimited number of unaccompanied migrant children into our states\u2019 facilities for an unspecified length of time with almost zero transparency is unacceptable and unsustainable,\u201d the group continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have neither the resources nor the obligation to solve the federal government\u2019s problem and foot the bill for the consequences of this administration\u2019s misguided actions.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Biden administration\u2019s undoing of former President Donald Trump\u2019s border policies has\u00a0prompted a flood\u00a0of Central American and Mexican illegal migrants\u00a0at the US border,\u00a0including thousands of unescorted children.<\/p>\n

Central Americans looking for refuge from the Northern Triangle countries \u2014 Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras \u2014 have taken these policy moves, as well as the overwhelmingly more welcoming tone from Democrats, as a sign that Biden is inviting them to cross the border.<\/p>\n

Insisting that the border was\u00a0not facing a crisis, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said in early March that the problems the agency faced\u00a0should be blamed\u00a0on the previous administration.<\/p>\n

The data, however, overwhelmingly shows that migrants were flooding the border because they believed Biden would\u00a0welcome them with open arms.<\/p>\n

As Mayorkas denied the existence of a crisis, Mexican President Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador\u00a0blamed the new president\u00a0for the crisis, arguing that the \u201cexpectations\u201d he set\u00a0left migrants with the perception\u00a0that they would be let into the US.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
