But last fall, the adaptation of <strong>Trenton Lee Stewart<\/strong>\u2018s book series shifted over to Disney+. The series follows <strong>Tony Hale<\/strong> (<em>Veep<\/em>) as eccentric narcoleptic Mr. Benedict as he recruits a team of orphans to stop his twin brother from creating a global crisis. It feels like Wes Anderson\u2019s version of <em>Miss Peregrine\u2019s Home for Peculiar Children<\/em>.<span id=\"more-672446\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Mysterious_Benedict_Society_Trailer\"><\/span>The Mysterious Benedict Society Trailer<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Mysterious Benedict Society | Official Trailer | Disney+\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MUpFzScK7P8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>When Mr. Benedict learns that his twin brother Dr. Ledroptha Curtain is using a school called the Learning Institute for the Very Enlightened (LIVE) and a dangerous plan referred to as \u201cThe Emergency\u201d to create mass panic and destabilize the world\u2019s major governments. So he recruits orphans Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance to infiltrate LIVE and stop Dr. Curtain from unleashing his evil plan to become Minister And Secretary of all the Earth\u2019s Regions, or MASTER.<br \/>\n<!-- SlashFilm_300x250_In_Post -->While you might expect these orphans to have super powers, instead, these kids are recruited for their very practical and realistic skills. Reynie is extremely skilled at problem-solving, logical deduction, and perceiving people\u2019s emotions. Sticky has a photographic memory and is able to read very quickly. Kate knows how to use all of the resources and items around her to accomplish a variety of tasks. And Constance defies conventional thought patterns and writes clever and brutal poems.<\/p>\n<p>This seems like an intriguing, quirky show for families to enjoy. Honestly, I\u2019m not sure why this ended up at Hulu at all, because this seems tailor-made for Disney+, and there\u2019s <a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/0316460966\/?tag=film-20\">a whole series of books<\/a> to keep the series going if audiences end up liking it.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Mysterious Benedict Society<\/em> also stars <strong>Kristen Schaal<\/strong>, <strong>Ryan Hurst<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>MaameYaa Boafo<\/strong>, <strong>Gia Sandhu<\/strong>, <strong>Seth Carr<\/strong>, <strong>Emmy DeOliveira<\/strong>, <strong>Mystic Inscho<\/strong>, and <strong>Marta Timofeeva<\/strong>. The series is created by <strong>Matt Manfredi<\/strong> and<strong> Phil Hay<\/strong>, who also write and executive produce. Other executive producers included <strong>Jamie Tarses<\/strong>, <strong>Karen Kehela Sherwood<\/strong>, <strong>Deepak Nayar<\/strong>, <strong>James Bobin<\/strong>, and <strong>Darren Swimmer<\/strong> and <strong>Todd Slavkin<\/strong> act as showrunners.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>After winning a scholarship competition, four gifted orphans are recruited by the peculiar Mr. Benedict for a dangerous mission to save the world from a global crisis known as The Emergency. Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance must infiltrate the mysterious L.I.V.E. Institute to discover the truth behind the crisis.
