That kind of\u00a0fit our story.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Atlantic Club best embodied the aesthetic Berghoff was going for.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe look was a little nostalgic, a little on the effervescent side, with white marble and that fake glamorous feeling that you have when you walk into a casino,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>The hotel was used for several exterior shots, but inside \u2014 having been abandoned for five years \u2014 it turned out to be crawling with something scarier than zombies: mold.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The production paid to abate it, but the job was too big. It also used the empty indoor pool for a scene in which a horde of zombies attack a captured prisoner.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For a scene near the film\u2019s climax in which Bautista and his team try to outrun the zombies on a casino floor, \u201cArmy of the Dead\u201d moved to the Showboat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The former casino\u2019s cavernous, 60,000-square-foot gaming floor had been empty for years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll of the machines were gone because of the law. You can\u2019t have machines without a gaming license,\u201d Berghoff said. \u201cWe had to find over 700 [decommissioned] machines and tables and to bring that hotel to life.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>One issue the filmmakers faced was figuring out how to turn off the lights. Lighting in casinos is basically never switched off, and those working at the hotel weren\u2019t even sure how to do it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The power was eventually cut.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was creepy, for sure,\u201d Berghoff said. \u201cBut that\u2019s the way we wanted to shoot, with just cracks of light coming through some window that\u2019s a half a mile away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The production also had to scramble to make the piles of dead bodies required for certain exterior shots. A special effects company made about 15 high-quality fakes to be placed on top of the pile, but for the others, the crew improvised.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe bought out every Halloween skeleton that exists, and came up with techniques [to make them look distressed], like melting nylon and sl<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>ing on peat moss,\u201d Berghoff said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s like a massive art project.\u201d\u00a0\n            <\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">If you liked the article, do not forget to share it with your friends.
