An <\/span>advance screening<\/span><\/a> of the first episode has been announced for June 5, 2021, with Natsuki Hanae and Kaito Ishikawa to app<\/a>ear as special guests. The tickets to the screening will be priced at \u00a51,500.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The anime adaptation of <\/span>The Case Study of Vanitas<\/span><\/i> is set to <\/span>premiere<\/span> in Summer 2021. It will be directed by Tomoyuki Itamura (<\/span>Nisemonogatari, Owarimonogatari, Tsukimonogatari<\/span><\/i>) at Studio Bones. Deko Akao (Noragami, Snow White with the Red Hair<\/em>) is serving as script supervisor and Yoshiyuki Ito (Carole & Tuesday<\/em>) as character designer and chief animation director. Sasanomaly will perform the opening theme song \u201cSora to Sora\u201d (Sky and Sky).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Other staff members include Chiyo Nakayama (<\/span>Eden of the East<\/span><\/i>) as sub character designer, Shinpei Ishibashi as prop designer, Izumi Takizawa (<\/span>Arakawa Under the Bridge<\/span><\/i>) as visual concept artist and color designer, Sh\u016bhei Tada (<\/span>Higurashi: When They Cry \u2013 GOU<\/span><\/i>) as art designer, Shingo Kanai (<\/span>Btooom!<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Weathering with You<\/span><\/i>) as art director, Ying Ying Zhang (<\/span>My Hero Academia<\/span><\/i>) as photography director, Takuma Miyake (<\/span>Noragami<\/span><\/i>) as 3DCG director, Rie Matsubara (<\/span>Bakemonogatari<\/span><\/i>) as editor, Kazuhiro Wakabayashi (<\/span>Darker than Black<\/span><\/i>) as sound director, and Shizuo Kurahashi (<\/span>Akira<\/span><\/i>) and Sachiko Nishi (<\/span>Dororo<\/span><\/i>) as sound effects coordinators.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Case Study of Vanitas<\/span><\/i> manga launched in Square Enix\u2019s Gangan Joker magazine in December 2015. Yen Press publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Rumors revolving around The Book of Vanitas, a clockwork grimoire of dubious reputation, draw No\u00e9, a young vampire in search of a friend\u2019s salvation, to Paris. What awaits him in the City of Flowers, however, is not long hours treading the pavement or rifling through dusty bookshops in search of the tome.
