The 2021 Billboard Music Awards is this weekend. <\/p>\n<p>And if it feels like last year\u2019s were just yesterday, you\u2019re not far off: The coronavirus pandemic pushed 2020\u2019s awards to October.<\/p>\n<p>But now, one of music\u2019s biggest nights \u2014 which gives fans the power to vote for their picks \u2014 is back on track, with a vengeance. The Weeknd, who was infamously snubbed by the Grammys and vowed to boycott them forever, is expected to make a big showing at this year\u2019s awards. The Super Bowl powerhouse is a finalist in a whopping 16 categories. <\/p>\n<p>Perhaps he\u2019ll even debut a new face for the occasion. <\/p>\n<p>Also on the docket: Korean pop kings BTS. The South Korean septet became the\u00a0first K-pop act to be nominated for a Grammy last year. Though they lost the category, their history-making performance only fueled the hype for future American awards shows, including the Billboards.
