An elderly Mexican man suspected of being a serial killer has confessed to the murders of seven women, telling a court he ate some of their body parts \u2014 and skinned his last victim\u2019s face because she was \u201cpretty,\u201d according to a report.<\/p>\n

Andr\u00e9s Mendoza, 72, made the revolting revelation during a hearing on Thursday, when he was charged with the murder of 34-year-old Reyna Gonz\u00e1lez, The Daily Mail reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI removed the skin from her face because she was very pretty,\u201d Mendoza admitted in court, according to the report.<\/p>\n

He also reportedly confessed to killing six other women since 2001, and eating some of their body parts.<\/p>\n

But officials suspect that Mendoza, a former butcher, could be responsible for as many as 20 murders, the outlet said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll I want to do is tell the truth,\u201d Mendoza reportedly claimed in court.<\/p>\n

He was arrested last week after Gonz\u00e1lez, the wife of a local cop, went missing.<\/p>\n

She had planned to meet Mendoza \u2014 a family acquaintance \u2014 to shop for cellphone parts for the business she ran, the Mail reported, citing Spanish language outlet Infobae<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But when Gonz\u00e1lez didn\u2019t return, her husband, Officer Bruno Portillo, went to Mendoza\u2019s home, slum dwelling outside Mexico City.<\/p>\n

Portillo wasn\u2019t allowed inside and returned with other cops, Spanish outlet Milenio<\/a> reported, according to the Mail.<\/p>\n

Officers reportedly used jackhammers to tear up a concrete floor, and discovered a bloody table with Gonz\u00e1lez\u2019s hacked-up body in a shallow basement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat has been done is done. The husband is there, he saw everything,\u201d Mendoza reportedly claimed in court.<\/p>\n

Police also found the body parts of nine other women, as well as video recordings of the killings and other evidence \u2014 including a notebook with the names of 29 women, according to the report.<\/p>\n

Mendoza told court officials that he began meeting his victims at bars 20 years ago \u2014 and killed them when they rebuffed his romantic overtures, according to the Mail.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis person is a psychopath because he does not feel regret, so much so that he tells the Public Ministry, in the presence of a defense attorney , the circumstances of how it happ<\/a>ened, (as well as) the other events of the other people he has murdered,\u201d lawyer Sergio Baltazar, who represents Gonz\u00e1lez\u2019s family, reportedly said.<\/p>\n

A neighbor of Mendoza told the outlet he was always leering at young women.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey said that they did not trust him because he always looked at them and other young and pretty women strangely. Besides that he was always drunk,\u201d he said.\u00a0\n <\/p><\/div>\n
