Google Photos has a feature that automatically curates and surfaces old photos in the form of \u201cMemories<\/a>.\u201d The unfortunate thing about memories is that they\u2019re not always good<\/em> memories. Thankfully, Google allows you to exclude people\u2014and even pets\u2014from Memories.<\/p>\n

The Memories feature is available to anyone who backs up their images\u00a0to Google Photos. You can see the Memories row at the top of the main \u201cPhotos\u201d tab in the mobile app<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Start by opening the Google Photos app on your iPhone<\/a>, iPad<\/a>, or Android<\/a> phone or tablet. Then, tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.<\/p>\n

Select \u201cPhotos Settings\u201d from the menu.<\/p>\n

\"Select<\/p>\n

Now, navigate to the \u201cMemories\u201d section.<\/p>\n

\"Go<\/p>\n

The option we want is \u201cHide People & Pets.\u201d You\u2019ll find that you can also hide specific dates as well.<\/p>\n

\"Select<\/p>\n

A list of people and pets, some of whom you might have labeled, will appear. Tap on any of the \u201cfaces\u201d that you would like to hide from Memories. The crossed-out eye icon means that the person or pet will be hidden.<\/p>\n

\"Select<\/p>\n

Tap the back arrow in the top-left corner when you\u2019re done. Exiting the menu will save the changes automatically.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s all there is to it! These people or pets will not appear in your Google Photos Memories anymore. Remember that you might miss out on pictures of other people if the ones with crossed-out faces are also in the image with them.<\/p>\n
