Mangual sees irony in gripes that attention paid to \u201cthe relative handful\u201d of violent agitators distorts the image of an otherwise peaceful movement \u2014 even as the violence by cops that sparked the protests similarly doesn\u2019t fairly \u201ccharacterize\u201d law enforcement. Police are \u201cnot perfect,\u201d he admits, but to bridge the gap between protesters and cops, \u201cdestructive hyperbole\u201d about police violence \u201cneeds to be recognized for what it is.\u201d Data on police use of force \u201cpredominantly reveal professionalism and restraint,\u201d suggesting, for instance, that in 2018, police in America \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/download-scripts-themes-apps\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"9\" title=\"Download Scripts &amp; Themes &amp; Apps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app<\/a>lied deadly force with a firearm in just 0.003 percent of arrests.\u201d To prevent more \u201cdestruction and anarchy,\u201d the debate needs to be grounded in \u201cdata rather than hyperbole.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Election_desk_Why_the_GOP_Needs_Vote-by-Mail\"><\/span><strong>Election desk: Why the GOP Needs Vote-by-Mail<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While President Trump rails against mail-in voting, many Republican election officials are \u201cexpanding it anyway\u201d \u2014 as well they should, argues RealClearPolitics\u2019 A.B. Stoddard. For one thing, Trump\u2019s claim that \u201cvote-by-mail is rife with fraud\u201d is false: The conservative Heritage Foundation found \u201conly 204 cases of the fraudulent use of absentee ballots\u201d out of the \u201c250 million ballots cast in the last 20 years.\u201d And mail-in voting can benefit Republicans in places like Florida, whose many senior citizens are \u201ca critical bloc of Trump\u2019s support\u201d and the most susceptible age group to COVID-19. Even though many Republicans back the change, though, \u201cany effort to scale up mail-in voting will be difficult\u201d \u2014 especially without pressure from Trump and the Republican National Committee.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Libertarian_Gray_Ladys_Fear_of_an_Op-Ed\"><\/span><strong>Libertarian: Gray Lady\u2019s Fear of an Op-Ed<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Reason\u2019s Matt Welch rolls his eyes at the The New York Times, supposedly \u201cthe serious journalistic institution in the United States,\u201d which published an article claiming \u201cits own employees were scared\u201d that a Times op-ed by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) would \u201cthreaten their very lives.\u201d Such a claim just shows how many in the <a href=\"https:\/\/buradabiliyorum.com\/en\/category\/social-mediaa\/\" data-internallinksmanager029f6b8e52c=\"1\" title=\"Social Media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">media<\/a> \u201care noisily abandoning liberalism\u201d: Even outlets that \u201conce waved the flag of provocative viewpoint-diversity\u201d have \u201clong since become barely distinguishable enforcers of a joyless orthodoxy.\u201d If an editor dares to commit \u201cthe sin of expressing a Wrongthink or publishing a Deplorable,\u201d he or she now has to make a \u201cfull public confession or a cowed explanation.\u201d If that \u201ccramped cowardice is the future of journalism,\u201d warns Welch, \u201cjournalism has no future.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"From_the_right_Tough_Love_Saves_Lives\"><\/span><strong>From the right: Tough Love Saves Lives<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has been \u201ctelling protesters things they don\u2019t want to hear,\u201d applauds National Review\u2019s Jim Geraghty: They\u2019re \u201crisking their lives by gathering in large numbers\u201d during the pandemic, and their \u201cviolence and looting\u201d are tainting the \u201ccause they claim to stand for.\u201d Many elected leaders who \u201ckeep insisting they stand with the protesters and support them\u201d are \u201cplaying along with the fantasy\u201d that the protests are \u201csomehow less dangerous\u201d than other gatherings, even when we have direct evidence to the contrary. Geraghty wonders: Do our leaders really \u201clove\u201d the protesters, as they claim? If you love someone, after all, you do as Bottoms is doing: \u201cTell him the truth\u201d \u2014 especially when \u201che doesn\u2019t want to hear it.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eye_on_space_Mars_Is_Now_in_Reach\"><\/span><strong>Eye on space: Mars Is Now in Reach<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>\u201cMars is within reach,\u201d cheers Kevin Mooney at the Washington Examiner, and it\u2019s \u201cthanks in no small part to the public-private partnership between NASA and SpaceX.\u201d The successful launch of the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule and docking at the International Space Station mark a \u201cturning point.\u201d As aerospace engineer Robert Zubrin, who founded the Mars Society, explains in his book \u201cThe Case for Space,\u201d breakthroughs in rocketry are opening \u201cnew avenues for the commercialization of space\u201d and manned missions leading to the colonization of the Red Planet. Zubrin believes \u201cwe can establish our first small outpost on Mars within a decade.\u201d That\u2019s \u201coptimistic,\u201d concedes Mooney.
