\u201cIt sounds like she\u2019s working on it with you and through you,\u201d the Yorktown Heights resident replied. \u201cRespect boundaries, make her feel safe. If you can\u2019t go on like this, you have to respect yourself and find what\u2019s app<\/a>ropriate for you.\u201d <\/p>\n

Another poster said a friend initiated a drunken romantic tryst despite already having a boyfriend.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou didn\u2019t do anything wrong and it\u2019s my personal belief that you are not obligated to right his wrong by informing his partner,\u201d wrote Ocasio-Cortez, a real estate agent by trade. \u201cMost likely if you want to keep the friendship, you\u2019re going to have to decide to either fully forget it or fully discuss it.\u201d<\/p>\n

One gay follower bemoaned a boyfriend who refused to tell his parents about them.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also lighter fare, like bar recommendations (he\u2019s a fan of Balboa\u2019s in Brooklyn); and personal reveals, like how many languages he can speak (English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese), and how he advocates for the deaf, as he revealed on Twitter,<\/a> because he\u2019s battled his own \u201csingle-sided deafness & tinnitus.\u201d<\/p>\n

The fame that came with his sister\u2019s election also upended his life. The FBI told him to avoid opening his mail for fear of mail bombs, he told Interview Magazine<\/a> last December. And in one Instagram post he revealed he had been the victim of a \u201cstalking incident.\u201d<\/p>\n

Like his sister, he\u2019s not afraid to get political. His posts show he is supporting Dianne Morales\u2019 long-shot progressive run for mayor, and he\u2019s previously donated<\/a> $100 to Nomiki Konst\u2019s failed 2019 campaign for Public Advocate.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Ocasio-Cortez holds a degree from Long Island University in \u201cArt Psychotherapy,\u201d according to his LinkedIn, though he doesn\u2019t appear to have any formal therapeutic training. He currently sells real estate in lower Westchester County. <\/p>\n

He declined to offer comment to The Post, but the pros were less than impressed with the online therapy.<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall, he oversimplifies and pontificates freely based on very little information,\u201d Beth Wechsler, a psychotherapist and social worker, told The Post. \u201cIf you want real help with a serious life problem, you don\u2019t sum it up in one sentence and put it on Instagram.\u201d<\/p>\n
