A career criminal with 45 prior arrests was shot in the face with his own gun in the Bronx Saturday during a subway stickup that also left his victim shot.<\/p>\n

Amars Faisal, 21, app<\/a>roached another man and demanded his property at gunpoint in the 182nd-183rd Street D train station around 6 p.m., police sources said.<\/p>\n

In the ensuing struggle his gun went off, striking both men. The alleged robber was hit in the face with gunfire, and the 21-year-old victim was stuck in the torso, sources said.<\/p>\n

They were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital, where Faisal is in life-threatening condition, sources said. A .38-caliber gun and five shell casings were recovered, according to the sources.<\/p>\n

Charges were not immedia<\/a>tely filed.<\/p>\n

Faisal is affiliated with the WASHSIDE D-L Crew gang, and has been arrested by the NYPD 45 times, including 27 felonies, mostly for robberies, sources said.<\/p>\n

Trains were bypassing the station because of the incident, the MTA said.<\/p>\n

Eyewitness Jeremy Lynch, a 46-year-old Bronx resident, was in the station when shots rang out and shared footage of the grizzly aftermath with The Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s two guys in the other side of the turnstile. I heard arguing,\u201d Lynch explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hear a shooting and I get behind the booth. People were running around. It was frantic and police started coming from everywhere\u2026every single direction. I just saw people running, dashing, screaming and yelling\u201d<\/p>\n

A crowd could be seen gathering around the broad daylight scene, as police and paramedics flooded the station and brought the injured men out on stretchers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI saw people running through the door. They probably heard the shot,\u201d nearby bodega worker Sulaiman Alhaji said.<\/p>\n

A Bronx woman who was visiting her daughter in the neighborhood said that University Heights has become increasingly dangerous.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis area is very bad. Every time there is a shooting or killing. Oh my god,\u201d Sonia Contreas, 52, exclaimed.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter lives two blocks from here so I\u2019m scared. I got a teenage grandson and every time something happens around here, it\u2019s very bad. And now it\u2019s getting worse. There is no police around.\u201d\n <\/p><\/div>\n
