Pink lived up to her newly-minted Icon Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards with a touching aerial performance to her song \u201cCover Me in Sunshine\u201d \u2014 in tandem with her 9-year-old daughter, Willow Sage Hart.<\/p>\n

The badass award recipient picked the song \u2014 a single she recorded with Willow \u2014 to kick off an eight-minute medley worthy of the Philadelphia native. The high-flying stunt was par for the course for the 41-year-old Pink, who is known for mind-blowing acrobatics during concerts. <\/p>\n

After the segment, she proclaimed that her offspring \u201cnailed it.\u201d Like mother, like daughter.<\/p>\n

She was introduced by her longtime friend, musician Jon Bon Jovi, who saluted her artistry and legacy and said she \u201ctruly changed the game<\/a>\u201d as a rock and roll \u201ctrailblazer.\u201d<\/p>\n

In her remarks, she playfully admitted to being \u201ccrushed\u201d when, at age 8, she found out that Bon Jovi was already in a relationship. \u201cI\u2019m very glad you found everlasting [love],\u201d she said, addressing him onstage, \u201cbut you broke my heart.\u201d She joked that \u2014 although she \u201cripped his poster off her wall and replaced it with Sebastian Bach\u201d \u2014 she took receiving the award from him as an \u201capology.\u201d<\/p>\n

For her performance, the black-clad Pink launched into an energetic medley that included \u201cGet the Party Started,\u201d \u201cSo What,\u201d \u201cBlow Me One Last Kiss,\u201d \u201cWho Knew,\u201d \u201cJust Give Me a Reason\u201d and more from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. <\/p>\n

The \u201cRaise Your Glass\u201d singer has landed four singles at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and her last three albums hit the Billboard 200 at No. 1, according to the music organization. <\/p>\n

Pink, born Alecia Moore, is the 10th musician<\/a> to receive the Icon Award, which \u201crecognizes outstanding artists who have achieved excellence on the Billboard charts and have made an indelible mark on music itself.\u201d Previous winners include Garth Brooks, (2020), Mariah Carey (2019), Janet Jackson (2018), Cher (2017), Celine Dion (2016), Jennifer Lopez (2014), Prince (2013), Stevie Wonder (2012) and Neil Diamond (2011).<\/p>\n

The singer\u2019s app<\/a>earance comes on the heels of the premiere of her new Amazon Prime<\/a> documentary, \u201cAll I Know So Far,\u201d which chronicles<\/a> her onstage and backstage life during the European leg of her 2019 \u201cBeautiful Trauma\u201d concert tour, including two dates at London\u2019s Wembley Stadium.<\/p>\n

The 2021 Billboard Music Awards kicked off with DJ Khaled, H.E.R. and Migos performing the song \u201cWe Going Crazy.\u201d Hosted by Nick Jonas, also planned performances by The Weeknd, Doja Cat, SZA, AJR, Bad Bunny\u00a0and\u00a0Karol G,\u00a0DJ Khaled featuring H.E.R. and Migos, Duran Duran, Glass Animals, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis with Sounds Of Blackness featuring Ann Nesby and Twenty One Pilots. In addition, Alicia Keys was there to celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut album, \u201cSongs In A\u00a0Minor.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
