Here\u2019s some more Phase Four.<\/p>\n

The teaser trailer for Marvel Studio\u2019s \u201cEternals\u201d dropped Monday, introducing viewers to a whole new ragtag crew in the Marvel Cinematic Universe \u2014 a group of aliens who have been living on Earth secretly for thousands of years.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have watched,\u201d Salma Hayek\u2019s Ajak, the leader of the Eternals, says in a dramatic narration. \u201cUnguided, we have helped them progress. And seen them accomplish wonders. Throughout the years, we have never interfered \u2026 until now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hayek is joined by Angelina Jolie as Thena, a warrior; Richard Madden as Ikaris, who can fly; Kumail Nanjiani \u2014 who got a new buff bod for the film \u2014 as Kingo, a Bollywood star who can summon cosmic energy; Gemma Chan as Sersi, who has the power to change objects with her mind; and Kit Harington as Dane, a human fighter. Brian Tyree Henry plays Phastos, a techie Eternal and the first gay Marvel superhero on-screen.<\/p>\n

Notably, \u201cEternals\u201d is the first Marvel film to be helmed by a Best Director Oscar winner. That\u2019s Chlo\u00e9 Zhao of \u201cNomadland,\u201d which also took home the Best Picture prize this year. Kenneth Branagh, who directed 2011\u2019s \u201cThor,\u201d was nominated for Best Director in 1990 for \u201cHenry V,\u201d but lost to Oliver Stone for \u201cBorn On The Fourth of July.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zhao has definitely retained her epic and nature-lovin\u2019 style, even with a much bigger Disney budget. <\/p>\n

Some shots in the trailer are dead ringers for moments in \u201cNomadland,\u201d like when what app<\/a>ear to be shrouded ancient earthlings look off into the horizon.<\/p>\n

\u201cEternals\u201d hits theaters Nov. 5.<\/p>\n

After a number of delays due to the pandemic (\u201cEternals\u201d was originally set to be released in November 2020), Marvel is back in full force this year. \u201cBlack Widow,\u201d starring Scarlett Johansson is out July 9, \u201cShang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings\u201d debuts Sept. 3 and \u201cSpider-Man: No Way Home\u201d begins Dec. 17.\n <\/p><\/div>\n
